In December we had 5 large old windows replaced and new screen doors installed and everyone who worked on our job were very professional and friendly. They always arrived right on time and finished when they said they would and left the work areas clean. Michael came and measured and ordered all the new windows and supervised every visit. I recommend them highly and will continue being their Very Happy Customer.

Michael F at Glass & Sash has done some good glass work for me in the past. But 2 years ago I asked him for his rec on a flat roof skylight cover of mine and he said go with the tinted, vinyl dome cover. So I did. Now this cover makes annoying "popping" sounds in the late afternoon. I called to tell him and he said that he has the same problem at his house. So, why did he recommend it? Probably because it cost almost $400 and a glass skylight cover, like I had before, would've been much cheaper.

As a General Contractor I deal with many glass companies. Unfortunately Glass & Sash will be removed from my list. They installed a glass railing and used the wrong product to set the glass. By using a product designed for interior use in an exterior application, over time it disintegrated and the glass became dangerously loose. People make mistakes and while it's a problem that could have been avoided, mistakes do happen.
The reason I will never use them again, and recommend you do not either, was their refusal to do ANYTHING to help, after it was clear they made a mistake. I called and went in person to discuss with Tom various possible solutions. Since the project was out of warranty, I offered to buy all of the correct materials that they should have used the first time.
I offered to have my guys prep the area so all he would have to do was place the setting material (probably take two hours). No, no, no. He was not going to do anything or take any responsibility for using the WRONG product. They should have known to use an exterior product (as clearly marked on the specifications that I showed him) but they weren't that careful. When given a chance to make good on their error, they ran and hid. That's not a company I ever want to deal with, and now you're on notice too.

Tom, Nick and the other owner who answers the phone are sales people. They don't take responsibility for the correct installation or function of their products. They use temporary sub-contractors/ day-journeymen who aren't well treated and have no loyalty to you or to them. In fact, they don't like them. RUN AWAY
