In our world of quick fixes, shoddy workmanship and absence of responsibility, Charles Windows is a positive rarity. They installed Hardy Board siding on my 1915 San Francisco home 5 years ago. I assumed that the siding would take care of constant leaking I'd experienced since I moved here in 1988. In the past year I've had some leaking and staining around the windows which became a major problem after our October 'atmospheric river' deluge. Charles Windows assumed full responsibility even though they were not the company who originally installed the windows.

They removed and waterproofed the frames of 11 windows - all of which had been improperly installed. It was a 2 week job for Miguel and Gerardo who were excellent craftsmen and very amiable. If you can imagine the depth of my frustration over the irresponsible work and followup of two sets of replacement windows which never kept the rain out, you can imagine the height of my gratitude to Charles Windows for backing me up and doing the old fashioned 'right' thing. I could not recommend them more.

After the rain, our patio door had become difficult to close and impossible to lock. I talked with and emailed photos of the door to Patricia. The earliest available appointment was 02/16/22. Although I was concerned that I could not lock our door, I accepted the 2/16/22 appointment. However, Patricia called and offered to reschedule the appointment for 02/09/22.

I interacted with Robert and Bryan arrived at the scheduled time. Both were service-oriented and very helpful. Our door was repaired quickly and we are now secure. We highly recommend Charles Windows.

I hadad Charles Windows install 2 windows in my bedroom. They did a fast job on estimating, measuring and order. Very pleasant and professional. I do not considering it their fault that getting the windows took awhile. When they arrived, they installed them in 2 days and they are beautiful. The trim was done to perfection. With all the small things we have done recently with such difficulty it was nice to have this done so, so, so well. Thank you for sugh a beautiful job.

It is nice to work with True professionals! Chris and Dave did a wonderful job replacing our 4 large patio doors! True Craftsman is hard to find these days. I got quotes from Anderson and have to say it felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman. Nice to work with People that take pride from start to finish!

Had this Charles team come out and replace the original windows in my home and sliding glass door to the deck. Wow! They did a great job! Replaced the original windows and sliding glass door in my home. Long part was waiting for the windows to be ordered (extra delayed due to COVID delays, but not their fault). Gina was great! Came on a weekend, took measurements in under 30 minutes, and sent me a quote the next day. No annoying sales pitch, and was efficient with my time on a day off. Loved it! Measurements happened the next week, which was also quick and eventual install only took 3 days.

Appreciate the guys always used drop cloths and cleaned up after themselves each night. They added some nice trim, and used my extra paint to touch up spots on the door. It's expensive, don't get me wrong, but it was a great investment in my home, and I'm so happy I went with Charles!

They replaced our old wood siding with Hardee concrete composite boarding. The work was done neatly, and on time. We were impressed with the quality and now feel much safer in our home. I would gladly use them again for such a project.

In June of 2021 we had 3 sliding glass doors replaced along with multiple single pane windows in our Eicher home. We are VERY satisfied with our new double pane windows and doors. The service we received from Charles Windows was top notch. We interacted with many people from the company and every single person was service oriented and very helpful.

A project of this size is never without glitches but with patience and good communication we were able to satisfactorily work every situation through to a good completion. We highly recommend Charles Windows.

After a couple months in my new Sausalito home it was apparent that I had no hope of being comfortable with the original (1970s) single pane windows. I met with several firms and chose Charles based on reputation. I'm glad I did. It was not a small job - scaffolding, 26 windows. Every one on their staff was professional and they went above and beyond resolving issues that were not their fault. I'm glad I don't have more windows to replace but I would use them again if I did. A pleasure to work with.

After a few months in my new Sausalito house I reluctantly decided to replace 26 windows/sliding doors. Did some research, got a couple of bids and chose Charles. I could not recommend them more highly. Two different window manufacturers and each had a couple defects. Charles team noticed (I would have missed most) and replaced them. Their workers were respectful of my furnishings and a complete pleasure. I had an unrelated issue and they went above and beyond to solve it. Loved working with the entire team! Honest, professional, a pleasure.

Our home in Mill Valley was built about 1900 and we enjoy a panoramic view of San Francisco. We needed to upgrade the windows to take full advantage of the view but worried new windows would destroy some of the charm and might damage the redwood and walls that give our house much of its character. We met with Charles Windows Consultant DeWight "DC" Cooley he assured us the windows and doors could be replaced with double pane units that would look almost identical and that the replacement could be completed with no damage to the old redwood framing around the windows.

All the members of the team were respectful of the current Covid requirements, wearing masks at all times. They protected furniture with plastic sheeting and after the day's work was over they removed it and cleaned up meticulously. They made sure the disruption from construction was minimal. Project manager Sean made precise measurements. He was detail oriented and exacting, and the crew he coordinated showed care and skill. Ivan and Jair were masters at removing and replacing doors, a challenging task in an old house in which not everything is absolutely square.

When Elden and Jovanni finished installing the new windows our living and dining rooms retained all their charm. We also needed some siding replaced where one of our old doors had been leaking. That job was undertaken by Gerardo and Victor. In all, we have had Charles Windows replace 12 windows, 2 single doors, and 1 French door. And now we have just ordered 4 more windows and another French door.

We are confident the work will be done expertly and efficiently by skilled professionals. We appreciate all the guidance we have received from the beginning of the project until the end. We would certainly recommend them.

Amazing work. so. 1st thing 1st. expensive! But what isn't these days!?!?! I haven't been able to open my old windows for Over 25 years! I am so happy I contracted with Charles Windows. The quality of the work is impeccable. Chris the main contractor is impecable clean, punctual, clear and very nice. I got custom made windows for my kitchen and living room. Highly recommend this company!

I want to like this place because some of the staff was very friendly when I stopped by to look at doors. The last call to them soured my taste of the business and I have since taken my needs elsewhere. It's amazing how one bad apple can taint your entire business. The entire construction trade is booming in Marin. With ample/excess customers behaviors that would tank a business are tolerated.

When the tides turn the day of reckoning will right these wrongs. Heck you could also say it's here now since I took my needs online and ordered from someone who acted like they wanted my business.

We went to their store and picked out a door. They came to our house for an extensive measuring session and informed us we'd need to replace not only the door but the surrounding window and framing. They told us they would check with their installers and get back to us with a quote. Never responded back, no email, no phone call - simply ghosted us. Overall waste of time.

About six months ago they "completed" my house. I had them do all new siding, windows and glass doors. I am still angry at the way they treated me and the problems I'm left with. I think the total ended up to be just under 100,000.00, they kept adding things and they treated me like a bad step child. It was so frustrating. Niko took the liberty of just choosing the tint color on my windows, never even mentioned there would be a tint color or discussed it with me at all.

The big kitchen window was the wrong size, contractor blamed Charles Charles claimed contractor I don't care I just want the window right. He installed high transit windows with handles that you can't open. When I asked several times they finally told me you can find them on eBay, a different Extendo handle and replacement tip is required for each window.nice. Why?!?

They left the screen doors for me to install, adjust and then i get to install the latches into the door frames. Who leaves a client all these jobs? I'd be broke if i did that. And i still can't even open one of the windows. Frankly the owner, Niko, just doesn't care, at all, once he's got you in a contract you can forget about any customer service or even civility from him. Worst, I feel sorry for the cool people who work for him because they're actually really kind and professional. I hate leaving bad reviews- but this guy is just evil.

I just had 6 windows installed in Bodega Bay. Salesman was functional. The installation crew was very good. Thorough installation and where there were dry rot issues it was completely explained and they recommended options that were used and all is great. The crew, Ivan, Alex, Eldon and Javier were very professional and courteous. Especially Javier. Again windows are great, installation was great and upfront sales part was okay.

I would like to speak with them to see what they offer in terms of product and expertise, but they just don't call back. Not off to a good start.

From the initial meeting with Rick in sales to the finishing touches, Charles Window and Door Co. did a fantastic job. Replacing a front door isn;t as easy as one might think. Most vendors sell only the door and the rest is up to the buyer. That can be overwhelming unless you are well-connected in the contractor network. Charles did the job entirely from start to finish, including arranging for some repairs which were discovered in the process.

All the crew members were on time every day during the process and all phone calls were returned promptly. The cost was competitive, pretty much "mid-range" in comparison to the other estimates I got. I feel I got every penny's worth---and more! Overall, what could have been an extremely stressful experience, went smoothly. I will definitely use them for future projects

Cannot even begin to express how wonderful this company is! Had a most unfortunate event happen: it involved a teenage boy + a large window.you can imagine the rest. Called a couple of window co's and Charles Window was the most responsive, good/great value, helpful and by far the most professional. From inception, Jen in the office gave me the detail of the scope of their work and costs up front.

Amazing! A beautiful green house window. Valdez Moreno was instrumental in this purchase and install. He has unparalleled knowledge and the installation crew was stellar. Ivan was meticulous about every aspect while installing. The office was efficient and we are definitely enjoying our view.

We went to Charles to look at and learn more about our options for windows. We're renovating our house in SF and need to replace several old windows and are adding a few new rooms. When we went in, another customer was working with the salesman, so we waited patiently until they were done, walking around the showroom looking at things for ourselves.

The salesman told us he'd be with us in a minute. The first person finished and someone else walked in and started talking to the salesman. Instead of telling this man that we were waiting and he'd help him after us, he started reviewing plans, talking windows, and completely ignored us. He looked over at us, made eye contact, and then went back to talking to this other man.

The showroom wasn't busy, we were the only other people there, and he completely dismissed us. After 10 minutes, it was so rude, and we were so surprised, that we left. We'll find our windows elsewhere.

Usual selection. Nothing special. They're always busy, so much so that their customer service is simply awful. We've been in several times only to either be ignored or brushed off. I'm sure if you're a contractor you'll get better service. But if your a home owner looking for guidance and a few quality products I'd suggest you go elsewhere.
