I'm disappointed at having to leave a negative review of a small business as I am a small business owner myself. I have called this company for service many times (because they did the original install of my storefront and door glass) only to have no response. I called no less that 6 over the last 2 years, giving them a pass for for summer of 2020.
Each time I received a promise of a call back which never came. I tried several times again this past year with my most recent time being 2 weeks ago. Still.no response. Would have expected better as I spent a good amount of money in glass install. Frustrated and extremely disappointed.

Our business was broken into at 3am. This company came out and boarded up a window the size of 12 by 16 inches. They asked for $550 dollars to be paid right then. The technician said the glass would be installed in a few days and the $550 would go towards the glass. They sent a quote 2 weeks later after we called several times at different business hours and could never reach an employee, only the answering service.
When we finally spoke to an employee she told us the repair would be another $650 on top of the $550 we paid for a piece of plywood. We checked two other companies and the repair quotes they gave were under $500. Instead of telling us that the boarding up would cost $550, which we could have done ourselves for $10. Or telling us that there was an additional fee for immediate service, they misled us to secure the job and told us that the deposit would go toward the completed job and then told us that wasn't the case. What a lousy thing to do to people in an excited state of mind when a break in just occurred.

They do show up. Had work done after 2:00 A.M. They boarded up a small square smashed window and a cracked door at my business. The police said it was a result of a brawl. They left a receipt with the manager. He told me it was under $500 which was our deductible. So I didn't call it in to our insurance company. Unfortunately, he misplaced the receipt.
They showed up a couple days later to replace the glass when we never requested that service. We stopped them. Imagine my surprise when we got an invoice for $1000. We asked for a copy of the receipt and were told they don't give receipts. Mr. Rabinowitz continues to call my personal cell ( it was the number I used to call in the break) instead of our business number.
After a discussion, where I explained our side of the the story, we were sent a bill reduced to $750. They bragged about how long they have been in business. With poor procedures in place and very rude communication, I do not recommend this company. Call the smaller company that will truly appreciate your business.

As it says on the side of their trucks, "Consider it done" - Rabinowitz Glass has been there for me, as a business owner needing new show windows, several times over the past decade. In every case, they arrived early, and in every case, their product, crews and installation were perfect. When our bike shop needed emergency board-up service on July 4th, Rabinowitz came through promptly-their man did a job that was so neat, it almost seemed a shame to take it down when the replacement window came.
I have heard other business owners in Northern Liberties Philadelphia say that Rabinowitz Glass is not the cheapest glass company. But I've also heard them complain about poor service, missed appointments and lower quality. For us, there's no contest; getting the job done right the first time, by an honest local company, is priceless. We would recommend them to anyone needing glass work. -- Michael McGettigan, Director, Trophy Bikes PHL
