We use a local Chicago company called Advanced Window. We also use Alside Windows. We also carry Pella's Architect Series, and our best wood window is Pella's Designer Series.
Our supplier of vinyl windows uses more vinyl than other manufacturers to give them more hollow insulating chambers and thicker internal walls. Our vinyl windows are custom built for remodeling. Vinyl double hung windows have the warm traditional feel that Chicago homeowners have loved for years. Double hung windows tilt out easily for cleaning and come in great range of colors that will complement your home. Vinyl double-hung windows are the traditional, classic style; both sashes can be raised and lowered for optimum ventilation, a counterbalance mechanism holds the sash in place.

This family-owned business has been around for over 3 decades, and I can see why. My online research resulted in finding stellar 5-star reviews from many people about Semko. Beforehand, I dutifully contacted a big-name company, only to find out that its bid was triple the cost of what Semko submitted afterwards. Although we "only" went with vinyl replacement windows, they are sturdy, of high quality, and come with a lifetime warranty.
The owner, Hal, was cordial from the very first call I made, and I was impressed that one of his sons, Adam, came out to our house that same afternoon to take some measurements. Adam was very straightforward and honest with us, advising us what needed replacing and what didn't, unlike the more prestigious company which wanted to replace everything.
Some days later, Radak stopped by to take more precise measurements: he was very professional and meticulous. My wife and I were fortunate when he showed up with his partner, Peter, for the 2-day installation. What's noteworthy is that Adam said there would be a 6 to 8 week time period before the work would begin: his projected date of May 18, 2022 became reality on that exact date.
We eliminated some redundant side screened windows in lieu of larger picture windows, which gave us a more expansive view in 4 different rooms: what a difference these new windows make! We were also struck by how much quieter our house became - especially evidenced by the muffled sounds of some violent thunderstorms one night. The sound of traffic on a busy street in front has been muted by this installation.
My advice would be not to be swayed by misleading advertising and swanky showrooms; instead, save yourself thousands of dollars by going with Semko: you will not be disappointed.

We used Semko to replace six windows in our Chicago condo. I was relieved when first meeting Jay because I didn't have to sit through a lengthy sales pitch-he simply took measurements, talked briefly about their product and installers, and emailed me an estimate later that day. The price was a little cheaper than other companies we spoke too and their warranty was better, so it was an easy decision.
We were happy when the windows arrived sooner than expected and scheduling the installation couldn't have been easier. The installers were friendly, efficient, and cleaned up well. We're completely satisfied with our decision to go with Semko.

Jay and his team at Semko, Inc are just great. I had to order replacement windows for my 3rd floor walk up and they delivered early and with the professionalism you only dream and wish for. I used that other company fel*** for a few windows years ago and was never happy, I'm now happy and glad I continued with the search for better windows and better customer service.

Hal, Jay and co. were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We used Semko to replace all our attic windows and they look beautiful. Everyone at Semko is incredibly personable and attentive. I was nervous about the process (first time homeowner) but Semko makes it easy. I replaced just my 2nd floor windows - WOW. It's like a whole new house. I can't wait to replace with the rest. Clean up was amazing- it was almost like they were never here! Highly recommend. Great price.
