The door is beautiful however after 8 years the seals have failed in all glass. Bought door through Bayer Built in Minnesota in and paid a hefty price only to be told that no one will stand behind the product. Extremely frustrated!

We bought a Simpson wood and glass entry door with sidelight from our local dealer. The door arrived with hideous gobs of sealant all around the glass!?! The dealer installed it without ever removing the sealant, saying the manufacturer should do it. What? We insisted and they came back and did it, but it was off to a bad start. The door finish quality was nice and only needed minimal sanding to stain it.

The casing was a little smaller than stated, so the install was tricky. The door itself felt lighter than expected for the money. Once fancy hardware was installed it felt better. The P516 glass is exactly what we hoped for: it lets in tons of light, but no features can be made out so as to give us privacy. The only gripe left is the cheap-looking bottom sill plate, and the bottom door seal gets hung up on it. I trimmed the seal so that it would work properly. The end result is good, but we expected more for the price.

This review is about the quality and craftsmanship of Simpson Doors. The doors were purchased from one of their dealers several yrs ago but since these doors were custom, I am holding Simpson responsible. I purchased exterior double French doors, clad and painted outside and stained knotty pine inside. Attached is a picture of the doors they made. Classy, don't you think?

The dealer agreed to have them remade and assured me the knots wouldn't match. Sadly, the second door was equally as bad. Long story short, I lost my down payment of over $2K and have no doors. Truly awful experience all around.

Horrible customer service from Simpson Door Company - stay far away from this company! Our designer assured us Simpson made quality doors, so we purchased four custom Douglas fir doors in July 2021. We were given a 6-week delivery time but the doors didn't arrive until late September. When we finally received our doors, one had an obvious bubble in the veneer.

We also received a splintered door stop. Our salesperson was surprised that Simpson shipped an obviously defective door. Simpson agreed to replace the defective door, but refuses to expedite our order. The estimated ETA for our door is late February 2022! We now have to find another contractor to install our doors because our contractor has to move on to other projects. We're dreading trying to find someone to install our doors next spring.

I realize every company is facing supply chain issues/constraints. That said, the right thing for Simpson to do would be to expedite our order given it was their manufacturing mistake. I don't think it's fair that the customer has to deal with additional costs/delays through no fault on their part! Simpson should have never shipped an obviously defective door! Avoid this company and save yourself endless aggravation and frustration!

We bought an expensive wood entry door made by Simpson. The door came damaged with veneer bubble. When we contacted Simpson via their Bay Area distributor, they first did not want to fix it and sent us an email with some googled steps about how to fix veneer bubble. We contacted them several times and explained that this is a warranty issue and they should fix it.

They took the damaged door promising to fix and send it back in 4-6 weeks. It has been 3 months and no door in sight. My family and I are using a plywood sheet instead of the entry door and Simpson is no where to be found and not responding. Terrible customer service experience

Unfortunately I purchased two outdoor doors from this company in 2018 and installed them around September - October 2018. The doors cost me $1000 plus. These were in my summer home and I left at the end of October. I returned and in May 2019 and sometime around June or July I noticed that the doors were coming apart and cracking. I contacted Chapman lumber who sold me the doors, Simpson and finally after the demanding Simpson sent someone to inspect the doors.

He told me that they would not replace the doors since I breached the warrantee of not having an overhang and the top and bottom of the doors properly sealed. Both of these are correct but other door companies including Anderson, ring lumber, my carpenter for 20 years, and others indicated this is ridiculous. Yes over a long period of time this could've occurred but not in 6 to 7 months if these doors were properly made.

They have refused any refund or replacement. These are terrible, terrible doors. They are very poorly made and I urge anyone thinking of purchasing these doors to reconsider.

Glass was not the same as in the picture on THEIR WEBSITE. What we got was too clear to use in a development, plus, even the glass that was in there had no quality control. Inconsistent. Door is sitting in garage uninstalled. Contacted them. No resolution. Even after this review and several contacts they didn't resolve it. We specified the door from their own picture and when it came through different, Walter and Jackson wouldn't help resolve it and my emails to Simpson went unanswered. It was a great loss of money.

Bought a Nantucket 77660. Had random dents that I was going to deal with, 2 chips on bottom edge that I was going to ignore until discovering cracks in side, cracks on side that were seen during staining, and panel finish molding was missing a long strip that had broke off. Waited 8 weeks on this door and now who knows how long the remedy will take.

I am very disappointed to say the least. I hope to change this review once they remedy this problem; in the current state, someone dropped the ball. Update added, dropped to 1 star because there isn't a zero: Got the replacement door that took around 9 weeks and it is a poor excuse for a door that costs around 2,300.00. A door that costs this much should not be sent to a client with a chunk missing that was horribly glued back in. Then, how do you send a product that has an extended cut in it, like they ran the saw an extra 1/4 inch deep. Do not waste your money here. They do not come close to quality and they should be ashamed of themselves.

We built a new home and ordered our Simpson front door through Pella. It took us 18 months to get Simpson to acknowledge we have warranty issues. We understand now why Pella doesn't rep the line anymore; but We don't understand why the president/ceo, Phil, refuses to return our calls, after 4 requests.through sales reps and customer service reps. Simpson customer service is horrible.

And it starts at the top. The rep lied to us over and over about replacement timeframe and delivery dates. At 18 mos. after agreed upon replacement, and multiple calls from Pella delaying delivery due to missing parts from Simpson, we are disappointed and disgusted. We cannot recommend purchasing Simpson Doors through any distributor!

I ordered an 8 foot door with satin glass for a house I am building. The glass is blotchy and has internal defects and they won't do anything to help me replace the glass. I have to throw the door in the trash. Terrible product, never trust this company.

Ordered Simpson Doors through Homestory, after learning Simpson offered knotty pine doors. The doors arrived and I noticed the knots matched, which was unacceptable. The installers informed me that the doors are fir with knotty pine veneer, which I was not aware of at the time. I immediately called Simpson and spoke with a man who asked me to send him a picture of the doors, which I did.

He then asked for info stamped on the door, which I could not provide as Homestory had already taken the doors back. I left Homestory's contact info with Simpson. I tried several times after to contact Simpson again, but they stopped responding. Homestory eventually agreed to replace the doors and assured me that the knots would not match. The second set arrived and the knots again matched.

I asked for a refund since they could not provide me with doors that met wood veneer standard for knotty woods (random matching). Homestory refused a refund and also sold both sets of doors to other customers. Simpson, what are you willing to do to help me out? These are YOUR doors that you made without any quality control. These doors did not match the quality as pictured in both your catalog and on your website. I am out over $2K.

Worst experience ever, they should be ashamed of themselves. I ordered a door from them, at first I was told the expected delivery date is 4 weeks; then it became 6 weeks - now at 7 weeks I am still waiting. The customer service is no better than useless, they refuse to give any firm delivery date; and told me that this is normal in "door industry ". I can not imagine a worse experience than this.

First off, I'm a custom new home builder, put 6 Simpson doors in my home 6 years ago, and did more than the recommended sealing process. With 2 years on doors that are covered from weather and not in sunlight all day, I had to replace 3 do to excessive rotting, within the next 2 years I had seal failure in the glass, I contacted customer service with some surprise that they were willing to place glass(of course it was under warranty) but I was looking for solutions to the quick decay of the doors, I did not want to use them for the replacement if the result was the same. Now I'm 8 years later need to replace the 3 other double doors before I can market my home. I also I have tried the online request with the same response as others NONE!

Bought a Nantucket door, took a while to get and that isn't the issue. The door edge has splits in it, the panel finish molding had a piece split off and they sent it like that, there were a few dents in the door, and there were 2 chunks out of the bottom. I couldn't see the darn splits until I stained the door. I really wanted to overlook most of the issues and then I saw the edge splitting and it really bothered me to where it has to be made right.

It is beyond comprehension that such an expensive door gets shipped when pieces of finishing cracked off and chunks were missing. The arch over the window was also not a good fit, which is really an afterthought once considering the edge splitting and molding.

Bought a door from the description on THEIR gallery EXACTLY. Got totally different glass. Not only that, each pane was so inconsistent, even if it was the right glass, it was freakish looking. Cannot recommend. So bad I won't even install it. Sitting in the garage taking up space. Contacted them. Still nothing. Wish I bought a depot item. At least I could return that.

They count on being so far away that isn't an option. I recommend buying local enough to return an item this big and expensive. Thousands of $ for a door I didn't order and loss of garage space. Fail.

Poor quality doors. The door they sent out had 'chatter' marks, long horizontal lines across the door, that were clearly visible that they said was due to the packaging rubbing. For the price it's definitely not worth it and would never order another door from them as they have refused responsibility and said the finisher should get the marks out. Plainly put, poor quality doors and poor follow up service so DON'T do business with them, you will regret it like we do.
