It is rare that that any sliding patio door NEEDS to be completely replaced due to it's unacceptable operation. Two sets of sturdy wheels with ball bearings are hidden in the bottom frame of the door. And, after a period of time, the bearings wear down causing the wheels to drag under the weight of the heavy door.
Through a process called convection, warm air will always move toward colder air, meaning that during the winter the air inside your home is always trying to escape the house and move toward the cold air outside. Warm air also expands, and therefore has the capacity to hold more moisture than cold air - moisture that is picked up naturally from inside your house.
Since most residential sliding patio doors lead to a patio, deck or back yard, they are a preferred point of entry for burglars. These patio doors are rarely visible to neighbors and street traffic as they are usually behind the residence. Also, they can be camouflaged by fences, trees, BBQ grills, furniture and bushes.

Needed a new custom size sliding screen door. Trevor got over to our place for an estimate within days of my first inquiry. He was super thorough in explaining everything and we received the new slider within 3 weeks! The whole thing was painless and quick and turned out great the first time. Thank you!

Excellent service! My sliding door is as good as new. Being stuck at home made me zero in on every home repair that I neglected to take care of. Scheduling was super easy and Charlie was extremely pleasant. Service tech was on time, polite, gave me a quick estimate and I agreed to perform the work & replace our badly damaged screen door. He was able to perform the work the same day. He returned about a week later to install the new screen. Overall very positive experience. Not sure why I waited so long!

It appears that I can't give zero stars so one is being overly generous. If you're considering a retractable screen door, don't do it or at least don't get one through Sliders. How do I begin. We had been looking at retractable screen doors for a while and finally decided on a product manufactured by Stoett. The reason we landed on this manufacturer was because Charlie with Sliders convinced us that it was the "best" and others were "cheap" and wouldn't work as well.
Setting aside the absolutely abysmal installation, I actually think they had never installed one before given the total lack of preparedness, complete confusion (think 3 Stooges) and the fact that a 5-year old could have done a better caulk job - I mean absolutely third rate, the screen pulled away at the bottom from the pull side of the frame within 48 hours. Called Charlie to help us out and he asserted, sight unseen, that we had kicked out the screen and we broke it.
And to add insult to injury, he sent us an invoice for $130 the very next day (again without having come back to look at the condition first) which he demanded be paid in advance to fix it. After pleading with him, he came back out and dabbed some glue in it. Needless to say it's unusable. But it gets better - the only way the screen can be fixed is to send it back to the manufacturer. in Ohio.
You didn't tell us that one did you, Charlie. It's like buying a Mercedes and being told by the dealer you have to send the car back to Germany to have it repaired. There is a right way and a wrong way to do business. Apparently Charlie with Sliders missed that lesson. I dropped $700 for this experience and now I have to take the screen assembly down myself and send it back to the manufacture. Seriously? THANKS, CHARLIE!

As good as it gets. I called on a Thursday afternoon and had an appointment scheduled for 3 Pm on Friday. Thursday evening I got a call letting me know Trevor was going to be there at 3 as scheduled. He called around 2:20 and asked if he could be early. Now, originally this was just going to be an evaluation, but he informed us that he could fix the door immediately and would not have to return later.
He had the rollers in stock for our Peachtree slider. Now this door gets used dozens of times a day to let the dog in and out and getting it fixed early was a bonus. He took the time to align everything, added a bumper stop so the door does not over travel. Outstanding and professional service. And, their rates were considerably lower than any other services I had contacted. Highly recommend for any slider service. Thank you Trevor and Sliders for a job well done!

Our condo building has been experiencing issues with some of its sliding glass doors. I sent an email to Sliders to ask about sliding glass door replacement. The next morning, I received a call from Charlie. He explained that our location (Chicago northside) is outside their service area. Despite that, he was happy to discuss our door issues and explained some key facts that should save our condo association quite a bit of money. (Specifically, we have broken seal in the static pane of one door. Charlie mentioned the glass itself can simply be replaced, rather than replacing the entire door. Also, another sliding door has wood rot at its base. Charlie explained that wooden frame can probably be repaired.
I was unaware either of these repair options existed but was very happy to hear about them; repair cost would be substantially less than the cost of door replacement.) Charlie also provided some contact info for another vendor who does service my area. I'm very grateful to Charlie and Sliders for their time and genuine willingness to help. Just a few minutes of their time at no charge which nevertheless was a great benefit to us. Thank you, again, Charlie.

Wow! After living with a very hard to slide patio door for 1-1/2 years, we were blown away with the experience we had with Sliders. Trevor came on a Saturday and not only gave us a quote but was able to perform the work in under 2 hours. Just in time for a party we were throwing! Seriously blown away with the customer service and skills these guys have. Highly recommended, great job!

I had to write a review about Sliders. I had Pella come out to look at my doors and give me a quote of about $1,000 to replace the weather stripping (for 3 doors). When Charlie from Sliders came out to provide a quote this morning, he took a close look and said that nothing was wrong with my weather stripping at all. He tightened the doors up a little bit, free of charge, before he left. Saved me a lot of money. It's always reassuring to know that a company is not going to do work on something that doesn't need it just to put money in their own pocket. Good people and trustworthy! Thanks.

I thought that I had to replace my patio door when even cleaning out the tracks did not make the door easier to open. A friend recommended Sliders to me. I called and set up an appointment for an estimate. Charlie arrived exactly on time and would not even enter my home without putting on shoe covers so as not to track any dirt. He immediately recognized what the problem was, gave me an estimate to repair, and set up an appointment with me to get the work done.
On the scheduled day, Charlie arrived right on time and had a helper with him. The work was completed within the quoted time. When I came in to see what was done, the work area was spotless, my glass doors we're cleaned, and he actually was able to slide open the patio door with a Toothpick! The door works better now than when new and at a fraction of the cost of a new door. BRAVO Sliders on your work and your professional work ethic!

I had some really old doors that weren't sliding like they should. Good doors cost a lot to replace so I just wanted them running smoothly. I called Sliders because of reviews I read and took a chance. We are so used to getting a quote over the phone but understand why he had to come out and look at our doors first. His was on time, friendly despite my barking dog.
And he gave her a treat. On repair day, he was again on time and brought an assistant who was great. I've never had my doors serviced before but I feel his prices were fair considering he worked on 3 doors and he waS done under 2 hours. I highly recommend his services. Nice and knowledgeable.
