I had a brand new building built and the company that my builder used to sub contract the garage doors was Magic. While there is nothing wrong with the doors materially (other than a small issue with a door seal on one of the doors) I was not impressed with the business side of Magic. The first issue I had was when I had the opportunity to install the wiring before the walls in the building went up I asked Magic to come out and pre-wire the doors and mark where they wanted the electric boxes, thinking this would be an opportunity for them to get everything in place where they wanted it, not leaving work to do when they actually installed the doors. Well, I had to pay an additional $100 for the convenience of doing this.
Then when they did install the 2 doors, which it took them a day and 1/2 to do, I was asked how many remote controls I wanted. I expected to be provided with an opener for each door that I purchased, but found out that only one was being provided and that I'd need to pay for the additional opener. I called Magic to ask about this and I spoke with Dean, I believe he is the owner of the company, and was basically chewed out for expecting 2 remotes and how horrible it was to deal with my builder, with a complete diatribe on how difficult his job is with customer requests/demands.
After about 10 minutes of basically being chewed out for even suggesting that a 2nd remote should be provided, especially after I saved them at least that much in time and materials by paying the $100 for the pre-wiring, he angrily agreed to "eat the cost" of the 2nd remote ($25 his cost). I have to admit, I have not been talked to like that since my days in the Navy, and his rudeness to an actual customer was something I was not expecting. They obviously don't need the work or recommendations and I would not recommend them to anyone.

They only offer 4 hour windows for repair, so I took half a day off work for their installer to show up an hour AFTER the window I selected. I had to call them to find this out. No one ever attempted to contact me and let me know they were behind, so I didn't have to burn a half day. When I did call to find this out, they weren't apologetic and acted like it was no big deal. I won't be using their services again.
