Sales person Noah was particularly helpful in helping us choose windows and doors for our new home. Marvin has a great product. Production timing was affected by Covid backlog at Marvin, but Brownell delivered as soon as items arrived.

Awful customer service. I worked with one rep who kept changing windows on me (mixing wood framed windows with fiber glass etc. when I specifically wanted fiberglass). Eventually the project got scrapped as we were going to go a different route with our home. A year later I returned only to be questioned why I was back and if I was prepared to spend 40k on my windows (was replacing one sliding door and 3 windows).

The owner clearly thought I could not afford the windows and said I had to be 'patient to get my quote.' Patient, I guess meant 3 months as I just got the 'quote' which had no details but was just a 40k quote. Luckily, I found another company that was a pleasure to work with and did not ever make me feel like my questions were dumb or that my project wasn't expensive enough.

They also caught things that Brownell failed to catch (like installing a window above an exhaust pipe which wouldn't have passed inspection and failed to mention anything about obtaining permits- both kind of a big deals!) I would highly recommend literally anyone but Brownell, unless you like being mansplained and treated like you are wasting their time/not spending enough money and having to be on top of every. Single. Detail. So that something doesn't just change from what you thought you were getting.

I've ordered windows and doors here twice now. Both times it's been an outstanding experience. Not only are the windows and doors of exceptionally good quality for the price point, but the customer service is equally great. Super easy to coordinate the plans with and discuss options. The timetable from order to delivery is crazy good all things considered, especially for new construction.

And any hiccups with installation a Marvin Rep is easy to get a hold of for tips or even an on-site visit. Couldn't recommend this place more. Hands down the best window and door supplier in Vermont.

Brownell replaced the weather battered doors on my house last year with high quality doors capable of withstanding the winter winds on Lake Champlain. Buying a condo in Burlington he was my go to choice to replace the aged windows. Les Brownell knows his products and is an absolute pleasure to deal with. He is a consummate professional.

A critter got into our basement and chewed up a couple of window sashes trying to escape. Tuesday morning I filled out a service request form on-line and heard back from Lorrie and Chris within hours. We have an appointment Thursday am w Chris so he can get measurements for ordering replacement sashes. We appreciate the responsiveness of everyone at Brownell WIndows & Doors. A very large showroom to get a good sense of what you are or aren't looking for. The staff are all super knowledgeable and friendly. There's tons of different materials and products to see in person, which definitely helps with the process.

My parents house is over 150 years old. Last Summer they did half of the windows and we're very happy to how much they were able save on heating fuel. This past Summer, they did the other half of their home, and can't wait to see how much they will be saving! My father was very impressed with the level of professionalism and customer service he received.

Paul has been great to deal with. Good company, friendly staff. 3 star because of a shipping mis hap, been waiting for the window for 2 weeks been shipped to California instead of vermont.

Window had a stress fracture. Windows and doors by brownell got me a replacement under warranty. Took a long time and I had to keep checking if it was in. No tracking information provided. Over a month with a cracked window.

Charged my mother-in-law for work they never informed was being done. When she disputed the bill, the rep came to her house to argue with her in person and intimidate her into paying. They will never get my business. This is not how business is done in Vermont.

Windows and doors by Brownell twice confirmed delivery date for $4000 worth of exterior doors after six weeks lead time. They then informed me of a delay TWO days AFTER expected delivery, throwing into disarray scheduled for a painter and installer I had just confirmed.

This company does not only sell windows; but provides great service. We broke one window and they helped us get a new one from Marvin under warranty. Yesterday I went in with a picture of a broken plastic part on a awning window and Brain was super helpful even though the store was closing in 5 minutes. After finding the correct part. I asked how much and was pleasantly surprised with No charge! Great products great customer service.

I can't say enough about our experience with Brownell. After a lot of ongoing house updates and having run the gamut from major renovations to ordering firewood, we've dealt with varying degrees of disappointment and success, and Brownell was, quite possibly, the best experience. The two exterior doors we ordered were not cheap, but we thought it would be worth it to replace the basic Therma-tru doors that were looking worse for wear with something as practical but a little higher end.

It was a long process (a lot of indecision about what to order), but the doors are beautiful and beautifully installed. The guys who came to install them were first-rate. They were professional, friendly, accommodating, and did fantastic work. As an example of how fastidious they were, they pointed out that they were going to make sure we could lock the doors without having to pull on the handle at the same time, which is not the case with any other doors in the house (and not even something I had thought about, to be honest).

There is absolutely nothing that could have been done differently to improve the doors or the experience and our satisfaction with the end result, which I can't often say about these projects. Eric, who set up the install, was also very accommodating and couldn't have made getting in touch with him any easier. He encouraged us to call with any questions, no matter how small, and was as thorough and detail-minded as the installers. (I also would like to add that the installers always took their shoes off or put something down to walk on--another huge bonus.) We're going to call and beg Brownell to install some interior doors (they mainly only do exterior doors and windows) for us because we won't go with anyone else if we can avoid it.
