I can't speak highly enough of John. My garage door job was a little tricky, involving a complete rebuild of all hardware and installation of an opener, and several garage door companies were flat-out uninterested in the work. John had a great attitude, did the work very well for a fair price, and was completely honest and up-front about what was involved. As a bonus, he referred me to a good painter. The result is that my garage door opens quietly and smoothly and looks great. I'm thrilled every time I use it.

We contacted John's Custom Garage Doors based on the good reviews but I unfortunately can't add to them! We hired them to replace our garage door that was working perfectly but was damaged cosmetically. After they replaced the door I immediately noticed that something was wrong with the electrical system in the garage. It could've been a coincidence but 4 lights nearby also stopped working.
We called him back to figure out what happened and then he broke one light fixture so badly that we needed to replace it. We understand that he didn't do it on purpose and that things like this can happen but then we had to go to Home depot and pay around 50 dollars for this plus the cost of the installation (He told my husband to call him to discuss but it proved impossible to get back in touch with the person).
Apart from this there was a bad problem with the sensors that wasn't there before the door was replaced. Whenever the sun hit the door they wouldn't work. He came once with someone else trying to fix the problem but it was still happening. Again, we didn't have a single problem before the replacement of the door. He didn't fix the problem nor give us the money back for the replacement part that he broke.
After my husband emailed the company someone came and fixed the sensor. It's a weird experience, because they did make a genuine effort to fix the problems but when none of them existed before this job started it's tough to leave a positive review. Being $50 out of pocket for the broken light without an offer of a partial refund is also pretty disappointing.

We are SO thankful we found John! I feel like he's a garage door 'doctor'. Our garage door was not working randomly and it was beyond frustrating. We contacted John to have him come take a look at it. Of course it worked the ONE time while he was here but he explained the problem without trying to 'sell' us anything. It finally died and he was back to replace it within a few days.
He is very professional, straightforward and friendly. We are extremely impressed and thankful for how quickly he replaced our opener, showed us how to use it, etc. We would highly recommend John for any garage door issues.

I am very impressed by the professionalism and courtesy of this company. I called for a garage door repair quote and received a callback within 10 minutes. The employee asked a few diagnostic questions and then talked me through the repair, which has solved the problem completely. He has gained a lifelong customer if we ever need heavy duty garage door repair or replacement. Great experience, and I would highly recommend John's.
