My client had a new garage door installed by GDI less than three months ago. Yesterday the garage door broke in the afternoon and was half open. The cables that lift and lower the garage door were winding around the main spindle and not the tracks they are supposed to sit on. We called, emailed, and texted during normal business hours that this was an emergency and a security issue.
We didn't hear back until this morning. We had to call another garage door service company to secure the home. They came out right away and fixed it. The tech noted that the tension on the main spring was not properly adjusted at install which is what caused the problem. I would not recommend these people as their customer service failed us both on the install and on an emergency repair that was needed. UPDATE:: Gates Doors & Ironworks replaced the side-mount system with a center pole, chain-driven system which appears to have solved the issues we were having. Thank you GDI.

Our technician Bert was amazing. He was prompt, informative, efficient and helpful in every way. He also provided additional information that would be helpful for us to know regarding future maintenance of our garage door. He provided an exceptional customer experience and we will certainly request him again in the future.

If you want a company that does not follow through or respond you are at the right place. Waited almost six months for them to install a gate. Once it was installed I had a problem with the craftsmanship and it took over a week for them to respond to date it still does not work. Can you imagine not being able to close or lock your entrance or garage for that amount of time. Safe your time and effort go elsewhere.

I moved into my new home and needed a garage opener so I called to have a technician come out. Not once but twice this company scheduled me an appointment and cancelled on me THE SAME DAY they were suppose to come out. This company has very bad customer service. I explained the first time they cancelled on me that I had to miss work just for them to do it to me again the second time.
When I asked to speak to a supervisor I got the run around that no one was there and all they can do was reschedule me again. It's very disappointing to use my vacation time sitting at home waiting for nothing. And I say bad customer service because the representative was not even apologetic about the whole situation. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I would give zero stars if I could.
