After many years in the commercial and residential heating/air conditioning trade, Ron Badley noticed the newer high efficiency heating and A/C equipment efficiency gains were still being lost through poor quality windows. This was experienced firsthand when winter came to Reno in 1989. Ron and his new wife and young son were suffering cold drafts and high heating costs within their vintage 1940 brick house.
I am so highly impressed with the inserts. Will be ordering the rest of the windows through the summer so they get in place by winter. I am not easily pleased so I ordered just three to start and make sure I loved them. I ordered the split in the center so that the shipping costs were not based on oversized shipping per the notation this company provided in the directions.
Width of the opening in inches. The fractions of inch. 1/4, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4 etc. Height of the opening in inches. Large openings must be split panel. Medium to large openings also may be cheaper to ship split panel. Shipping is based on box size and not weight. Split panels are just as strong and work the same for energy savings and comfort, it just means there are two panels in one opening connected together with an H track where they meet. It's still a compression fit of both panels in one opening. Use your actual sizes and do not adjust.
EnergySavr Window Inserts are an industrial strength optical grade polyvinyl film on a white or brown aluminum frame. A foam weather stripping gasket around the frame compresses as they are pushed into place, creating a sealed pocket of insulating air. Due to the compression, the inserts stay in place with no extra hardware in most cases.

Ordered them from southern Ontario for a patio door and main bedroom. Followed the instructions at the web site which are very well written and easy to follow. I used a laser measure for a accurate measuring. They arrived very well packed and had no issues with that at all. Installed the ones for the patio door today and they went in very easy and fit great.
The patio door is a single door that opens out and has one fixed window next to it. Use to install a window kit but that was tricky on the patio door as the frame was uneven and not square all around. These look good and are extremely easy to remove as well. Highly recommend this interior storm window for you home. Update: Inserts have been installed for about a month. Patio door and bedroom. Patio door still has some condensation and icing on the bottom of glass but a little less than without.
Also noticed some fogging in a couple of spots on the inside but they could be just humidity which is up to me to control. Having used window kits they you buy in local stores their would be not condensation or icing at all as they are air tight. The inserts are not air tight and I would not expect them to be. But they are much easier to install and can be reused for years. I would not buy more for the larger living room window but have decided to just put a window wrap kit on it.
