We are a Hunter Douglas Gallery Showroom displaying the majority of their product line, including the Alustra Collection, an exclusive assortment of fine fabrics & hardware to make a statement in any home. At THE BLIND SPOT, INC., we provide a professional, personal approach to window coverings, priced competitively for consumers or businesses desiring quality custom products at reasonable prices. We offer name brand manufacturers and products with a variety of optional features including motorization with remote control.
Services
The Blind Spot provides blinds, shutters, drapes, skylights, awnings, and customer window coverings. The Blind Spot is a Hunter Douglas Gallery dealer. We have aligned ourselves due to the exceptional service and support we get from them, and their continued investment in research and development. Only a few other manufacturers have brought new products to market in the last five years.
Having been in the window covering industry for more than 20 years, we have sold and serviced many blind manufacturers. We decided to align ourselves with the Hunter Douglas brand. We did this for many reasons. Hunter Douglas is the industry innovator. They are constantly changing their fabric lines, and working on development of new products or new lifting systems.
These are extraordinary window treatments that define beauty, individuality, and the essence of a home. Hunter Douglas traveled the world to find textiles and weaves by leading artists for this collection. The exquisite fabrics complement the decor of your home and create welcoming, comforting environments.
The term "Motorized" represents all of the above. The window covering is not operated manually, it is "powered" by a power source and "controlled" by some sort of remote / switch / mobile device or panel. Therefore, each shade or blind has a concealed motor in the head rail that receives a command from the power source to do something- go up, go down, open, tilt, etc.

The woman who answered was RUDE and refused to get me a manager. Apparently she is one of the owners based on the other negative reviews. Since she responded in half truths and instead insulted me once again, I will give a full review. I am buying blinds but the issue is that with Leveler and Bali their Room darkening colors are muddied and green or yellow.
They are not true colors compared to the Light Filtering companion color. We have East windows and therefore we must have Room darkening or we will be woken up at 6 am by The Sunrise. I explained to Tanya that I had called 3 other blind places and they didn't understand why the Room darkening versions of the colors were so unrelated to each of the matching color option on each swatch which were all light filtering options.
She didn't have any explanation and actually told me People just " Deal with the colors and accept they are slightly different and arent so concerned about the little differences." She was actually inferring I was just too picky! Instead of taking the bait I simply asked her if she had color theory training or an art degree since I wanted to discuss the color issues in a more technical manner since I told her earlier I was a trained artist and had training in color theory and couldn't understand why these room darkening options were so different than the matching color next to it on each swatch.
After her response about most people not really caring about the clear differences, I asked her, " Do you have color theory training or are you a trained artist?" She attacked me and raised her voice angrily saying, " No but I know BLINDS and have a degree in business from STANFORD!" at this point I realized this was more her issue than mine and I wasnt going to get any help other than being told its my fault and Im just too picky so I hung up.
I re looked at the Yelp reviews and realized this nasty woman is the owner and has behaved unprofessionally to other customers so I called a highly rated Hunter Douglas place in Cherry Creek and it turns out that There is a serious problem with each color when LevelOR or Bali or cheaper companies attach the metallic backing that blocks out light. The backing distorts the colors and turns them muddy or Green or Yellow.
The Whites turn Blue or Gray. Hunter Douglas intentionally avoids this issue by including an EXTRA cell within the Cells of the blinds which prevents any discoloration or distortion of the colors. The Cherry Creek hunter Douglas rep was VERY aware of the issue and as soon as I mentioned the problem with the room darkening colors not even being CLOSE to the matching light filtering color on the same swatch she went into a lengthy explanation.
She didnt insult me or insinuate I was just being picky. She was professional and educated about blinds. Hunter Douglas had SCORES of color options which were GORGEOUS. Yes they are double the price but thats the situation currently with blinds. Its unfortunate that Tanya felt the need to be nasty instead of admitting maybe she wasnt aware of this issue or maybe offered to get to the bottom of it.
Clearly Tanya isn't even good at business since she not only doesnt know how to treat customers but she clearly does NOT "know blinds." Maybe she needs to educate herself and update her knowledge base since she sells Hunter Douglas and could have explained this fact to me very simply had she KNOWN about the issue. I will be spending $5, 870.00 with the Cherry Creek rep at this point. Read the negative reviews and take them seriously.

I've used this shop several times now and I always have a good experience. We have Hunter Douglas blinds that have needed some repair work. This last time (today) the blind did not have a proper identifying number on it that would allow us to have it fixed under warranty. However, the owner of the Blind Spot called Hunter Douglas and figured out a way to verify that it should be covered. I'm very happy that she made this extra effort for me. I highly recommend this business for your window blind needs. It's a small shop with very friendly people.

In 2019 the Blind Spot installed blinds throughout my house, including a custom wood soffit to cover a mechanism. The product has been great, and their service was all I could ask for. Recently, one of the blinds had to be restrung and they did this work free of charge and turned it around in 2 days, which was much better than I was hoping. The continue to be professional and very courteous. I highly recommend them.

If I could give this company a negative I would! I dealt with Jared at the beginning! He was great. My blinds came in and all went well. However, I then ordered panels and a sliding door drape through Todd. I would leave messages and never hear back. I then asked to deal with Tonia--an owner! They admit that my order was a mess but wanted me to pay an up charge for their mistake.
They even told me they would make it right! After dealing with both Lenny and Tonia I finally had them just remove the blinds and refund my money! They said I wasn't willing to work with them! Seriously! You admit its your mistake but charging me! I waited from June of 2021 and March, 2022 is when I finally gave up! They wanted me to use a rod that didn't even match to replace their mistake. I asked for a patio curtain that pulled to the right. I got a panel on each side of my patio window instead. Such frustration and too many excuses.

The Blind Spot has furnished us with all of our blinds over a 15 year period. On each and every occasion Lennie and the entire staff have been professional, courteous and enthusiastic about their work. We've had a couple repairs over the years and they were handled with the same degree of professionalism as were the original sales. A truly well ran company.

Though it took quite a while to receive my order (due to distribution issues with the pandemic), the wait was worth it! The quality of my blinds and plantation shutters is excellent, and both blinds and shutters were very well made. The installation went seamless, and both gentlemen that did the installations made it look easy! Kudos to them and The Blind Spot! Sincerely, Roberta Ricci

I had a window shade that I had adjusted too much to the point that I had to have the installer come back out and fix it. I watched it being fixed and observed the tangled mess I had caused. Love the education. Thank you, thank you! I can now leave it alone and just open/close it properly. You guys are the Best!

Lenny and his staff did a good job for me. They ordered in my motorized Solar Shades to replace the older manual ones I had purchased somewhere else years ago. They were delivered and installed in a timely manner as per their original quotation. I am happy with their service and would definitely purchase there again. Terry R.

I had a great experience with Lennie and staff at The Blind Spot. I purchased some Hunter Douglas blinds, 9 years ago, from another store that subsequently went out of business. This particular model from HD turned out to be defective and unusable. I called Hunter Douglas myself to try to solve the problem. They wouldn't help me. A competitor recommended The Blind Spot to me. So, I took the defective blinds to The Blind Spot to see if they could help me. Lennie immediately got on the phone with Hunter Douglas and lobbied on my behalf.
Thirty minutes later, I had approval for new replacement blinds from HD at no cost to me! Amazing! I would recommend The Blind Spot to anyone who needs blinds or help with blinds. Thanks again Lennie and staff!

Our experience with The Blind Spot was phenomenal. Our first experience in the showroom was concerning, but when Lennie came out to measure, our concerns vanished. In addition to an incredibly professional and accurate job of measuring, he listened and provided a few excellent suggestions for our consideration (All of which we followed after some thought, and are glad we did.).
When Chris was doing the install, he had some additional suggestions, pointing out some issues because our windows aren't true, and providing solutions to problems we had not even noticed. It required a little extra time on his part, but there was no extra charge and he stayed until the work was done. The result was beyond our expectations. These guys really know what they are doing! I would not hesitate to hire this team again or to recommend them to our closest friends. Great people to work with.

We recently hired Blind Spot to clean our Blinds, Their charges were very reasonable. However, it was their technician, Chris who really impressed us on the great job he did. He was very professional, friendly and punctual. I will definitely use this company again especially if Chris is still there!

So glad I found this company in December 2017. Ordered a beautiful Silhouette covering for a slider. Customer Service was great and Brandon did a great install job. Today I needed a small adjustment to the covering. Patti was amazing on the phone, Brandon was out within an hour to solve the issue. Great service! Great attitudes! I would definitely recommend! Thank you!

Wow - I feel totally misled. We had The Blind Spot come out to replace a battery in an electric blind that took them exactly 5 minutes and they charged $155! No one ever gave us a quote or any idea that it would be that much to bring a 12 foot ladder into our house to replace a battery. To top it off, when we called customer service to complain, they were completely condescending. "Did you think we were going to do it for free?" she asked. OMG NO!
Of course not, but $155? We are happy to pay for your time and expertise, but not what I would pay my lawyer. Just about to send out a Facebook post to my 500+ Denver friends to never do business with The Blind Spot.

We called the folks at the Blind Spot to come out to either repair some external hurricane shutters or replace them. They ignored our calls for a couple weeks then after making the appointment, they send an email the day of to let us know we would have to pay a trip charge and evaluation charge and that they are super busy (basically telling us we are not a big enough project for them to take on).
Even knowing we were looking to replace the broken shutters. We canceled the appointment and called a couple other companies, who were willing to come and take our money. (total spend estimate is now over $4500 with new shutters and one internal verticle shade). This shows me the type of customer service they would have had if we would have ordered the shutters from them!

I was referred to The Blind Spot by another gentlemen in the blind repair business. I had called and spoke to the owner (Lennie) and after a short conversation, he suggested I bring in the blinds to have Chris, their repairman to look at them. I know Chris was very busy but he took the time to explain things and did a great job with the repair.plus he is a good guy. Definitely a good spot to get your blinds repaired.

Horrible experience twice. Will drive 30 miles to avoid them. Women at front desk unfriendly and borderline rude. Blinds broke after 6 months and wouldn't stand behind the repair, said they would split the cost the second time. Brought the blinds back and the same women was in the parking lot. I got the blinds out of my car, she saw she had a customer and rushed back in not even waiting to hold the door for me. Give them a try if you must but don't be surprised by poor customer service

These guys are fantastic. We had our whole house done through these folks in four installations over two years and it was worth every cent we paid for it because they are very professional and all of their recommendations have been great. We have had very problems and if there was ever an issue they responded immediately and got things fixed. Call them if you're serious.

Lennie and Tanya provide the greatest customer service and advice when it comes to picking out window coverings. I used The Blind Spot several years ago when I purchased my home and Lennie helped me choose a variety of products from plantation shutters to energy efficient shades. I recently had Lennie out to my office to replace outdated mini blinds. I just can't say enough about his patience and knowledge. I highly recommend The Blind Spot.
