I purchased a custom Borano door for my new construction home. We had issues in the very beginning which weren't rectified until I put up a negative review through Google. Not until they say the negative review I left did they contact me only to threaten me that they would not send me the correct piece until I removed the review. I now have another issue where the lever to open the door is broken because it was cheaply made so I can't open this huge front door. Cool right! I've tried on several occasions to contact them just to see if I can buy a new door handle.and of course no response. Stay away from this company!

Got my entrance door from Borano and I regret it so much. First it was installed wrong and never corrected. Two years later the door was out of warranty and I have been calling them to come and align the door with no success. There is no customer service at all, not even when you are paying for the repair. Their new name is "Custom doors"

Buyer Beware! *Do not conduct business with this company*. Cheap product. Cheap Service. This company is completely UNETHICAL. They knowingly shipped us a damaged door. Before the 'Custom Door' was shipped Borano Doors stated that they were doing "touch ups" on what was supposed to be a factory finish door. After calling and speaking with their offices, Additionally, half the trim on this door is from Home Depot.
They change the terms of their original estimates, break their contractural agreements, don't provide support services or updates, don't provide receipts for payments received. In addition to what they don't provide, they are horrible at communication and do not return telephone calls or respond to emails. They asked us for a wire transfer. The wire transfer was completed and door was to be shipped same day. This did not happen. Do not send them a wire transfer. They are scammers.

If I could leave a NO star review, I would! We ordered our door 3 years ago and have numerous issues with it. We've had locking issues multiple times and now our door is pulling at the hinge and not aligned. Every time I call to setup a service (which I expect to pay for) they tell me someone will call me as soon as possible to schedule a time to come out and they never do! I feel like a stalker constantly trying to get them to come out to fix my door! Horrible service, horrible job. Would never recommend

Worst experience as a builder dealing with a company in my entire life! These idiots shipped a door that was too small & they didn't even include keys for the lock. A simple two hour job took my workers over 9 1/2 hours because of their mistake & they blamed everyone else but themselves. I personally made 17 phone calls & not 1 return call. There were several chips that needed to be addressed & they just did not care because they were paid in full and the owners could do nothing about it in New York City. If you call the office, good luck as the receptionist will take your name, phone number and no one will ever return your phone call. A real POS to deal with. BEWARE!

I bought 2 doors a few years ago for my house we were building in Tampa. Now a few years later and one of the doors broke. The latch doesn't work and locking mechanism so the door won't even shut. IT IS AJAR! I have kids and dogs and a door that doesn't shut! Borano said I would need to buy a new lock (for $850 plus shipping!) and it "might" get there tomorrow which is Saturday.
If I wanted to guarantee it there before the weekend I should have called before Friday. REALLY! I didn't know my door was going to break Friday morning but if I had I would have preordered. What BS! So now I might have a door that does NOT shut all weekend! Also she told me they didn't service outside of Tampa so I needed to figure out how to install the lock. they don't stand behind there product. NEVER BUY BORANO! Update: I did buy new locks and had to find someone to install without Boranos help. Borano wanted me to take this off the site but I do think it is useful when buying and researching doors. The issue was resolved only after I purchased a brand new lock system and found a local vendor to install. Thanks

Shocking form to do business with. We are on our third door. All three have multiple splits. Company fail to reply to emails in a timely manner, do not answer calls. This is our third door in two years. Each one has split. First door split in 6 weeks, but took them 7 months to replace. Final door split worse than first two despite their assurance the manufacturer had improved specs.
Now they have failed to reply to any of my emails to repair or refund the door. Would not recommend them. My wife is in an interior designer and she would never use them again. Shocking.

Terrible customer service! Beautiful doors but they came in with the glass insert cracked. We notified them upon receipt of doors, sent pictures and numerous emails and phone calls and absolutely no response. They are very quick to get their deposits but addressing your questions is apparently not in their practice. When you spend that kind of money you want good customer service.
I would never recommend Borano. I am stuck with broken glass and will have to replace at my expense it seems. Luckily, I used a VISA card for initial deposit and opened a claim in hopes of some remedy.

I had a great experience with Borano. Things moved slowly at times, but all promises were kept, and we have a beautiful impact-resistant double front door. The door was shipped in a massive crate and very well protected. The contractor that installed it loved the door, and had an easier time than he expected installing the door. I recommend hiring an experienced carpenter to install Borano doors, and a skilled painter to apply the two coats of finish (it took me 10 hours!).
In a hurricane zone in Florida, you have to drill 34 1/2-inch holes in the frame (through the mahogany) for the 34 required anchors (for a double door). You then have to cut plugs to fill the holes before applying the finish. You can order trim (casing) from Borano to match the door, and I should have ordered an extra piece to finish interior and exterior of the door where it meets the floor. I had enough scrap from the trim installation for the required plugs. Overall, I'm very happy with the door.

I purchased a set of Borano double doors in 2013. They have been just fine. They were good to work with. BUT- this past weekend my house was burglarized. They took the keys to the front door and I need to get it rekeyed. I spoke to someone in NC who said she would overnight a new cylinder for my locksmith to replace. No Fed ex yesterday, and no one is answering the phone.
I guess stuff can happen to them too, but I do not feel safe without new keys. Where is my cylinder? I only want the tracking number from Fed Ex. I have left multiple VM, with no reply. This is not good customer service.

If you want front doors, run from this company. They are complete scam artists. I have been fighting with them for over one year. You can get better service from a second grader. They are mentally disabled and seriously lack any ability to perform simple business practices. If you love games and charades, this is your company! Check out their better business review! They received a solid F!

We recently got our front door with Borano and couldn't be happier about it. The process went really well all the way. We felt very comfortable with our sales person and the customer service provided by the rest of the staff. The door looks beautiful and is really a statement piece for our house. I'll definitely recommend Borano.

You might be better off looking elsewhere First off, these guys seem to be totally disorganized. They don't answer emails promptly, their follow up is bad, they don't answer the phone consistently, they rarely return phone calls or emails. This gets frustrating when your door doesn't arrive as promised, or when it does it is missing pieces and has loads of damage.
Their business model ships all production out of the country and then you wait. They don't see the units before you do (if they do, they don't correct the errors). We ended up paying over $12k for 2 doors and they are currently at a local lumber yard being repaired. I paid another $2500 to get the doors repaired. When asked about getting reimbursed for the error, there was silence.
No answer, no response. Zip. Nada. Crickets. I have photos, I wonder where I can upload? This company is a disaster. Save yourself the aggravation and lost money. Find another supplier, which is a shame since they seem to have good designs. Don't be fooled, stay clear.

Do NOT give these people your business. Was told my door would take 8 weeks and it took 20! Paid $560 for delivery to receive an email that they do not take it off the truck so I need a crew to remove a 586lb crate off a delivery truck. Needless to say I had to pay an additional cost and rent a trailer to pick it up. They NEVER contact you, you have to constantly call for updates!
The color was to be Dark Oak and it is has major red hues! They bored the holes crooked for the handle, and so much for weatherizing, I can't even water my front porch without water leaking into the house! Waste of $5,200!

Be extremely careful. do not order anything from these thieves. they sent me a set of double doors, that I paid a lot of money for and after few weeks both doors cracked really badly, after calling and e mailing them, they gave me the run around, no help, Tamera kept promising to help me and she still has not after 5 1/2 months. they also acknowledged that it is there fault. they did not let the wood dry. I just read the other review, and she is totally right. do not order anything, beware.

We paid $10K for a Borano door that arrived with poor workmanship: uneven finish, improper staining technique (showing nailhead locations because the filler did not take the stain, drip marks, etc.), poor glass sealing and lack of quality workmanship. We immediately notified Borano of our dissatisfaction and they suggested we find a local vendor to refinish the door.
We obtained 2 evaluations and bids and both vendors told us they could not refinish the door to an acceptable standard. Before submitting their bids, both vendors approximated the refinishing bid at ~$5K because they would have to strip, sand, re-stain and re-seal the door. We told Borano of the unofficial estimates and they (Tamara) told us those bids were "ridiculous" and that they would not pay for it. Borano did not even produce a vendor in our area to provide another bid - they left it to us to find vendors and when we did, they did not like what they had to say and declined to provide another potential solution.
Due to the opinions of both refinishing vendors, we felt we would not get what we paid for (a fine finished to match the rest of our house) and told Borano we wanted to return the door for a refund. They (Tamara) told us they would get back to us the next day and 3 days later I called again to follow-up on their non-response. They (Tamara) told us the same thing again and it has been a good 5 days now.
I believe the writing is on the wall that since they have our money, they have no motivation to make our situation right. We will pursue claims against them and see what their customer service and business practice is like. Other claims against them posted on the internet have not been favorable. If we have any additional information to provide later, we will post again.
