We placed an order with Newman in April, 2021, for new windows and a sliding glass door. We were apprised that the order would take several months to be filled, which was acceptable to us. Unfortunately, Newman does not have a reliable communication system in place for some reason. For instance, the original installation did it occur until the end if November, 2021.
That was after many previous dates set by Newman were changed for several different reasons. The installation was very poor, and included damage to the exterior of the sliding glass door, as well as damage to the walls and wood trim around the door. In fact, a window on one window didn't fit, so Newman put a piece of plywood over the space where it went.
That wasn't installed well, either, because it came out and we had a dead bird inside. To get anything done or get the status of something waiting to be done took many calls and emails. It is now April 6, 2023, and we are awaiting a screen replacement on the sliding glass door. There are some excellent people who work at Newman, but there are some who seem to lack the customer service/communication end of the business. All in all, we would most likely choose not to recommend Newman.

If you do not prefer to read the full story, in short do NOT hire Newman Windows to replace or install any windows at your home. I did a lot of research prior to hiring Newman and received three quotes from prominent window companies in the San Diego area. Newman was not the cheapest but their website and Yelp stated they were a quality company and have factory trained expert installers.
Well nothing could be further from the truth. Newman was hired to replace over 25 windows and 5 doors at my house at a cost of approximately $50,000. I chose Milgard windows as I have had these installed in two prior homes with no issues regarding the installation and quality of the build that were not installed by Newman. After months of waiting for the windows to be made, Newman sent out their "factory trained expert installers" to begin the replacement of windows and doors.
The original windows in my house were double paned windows framed in oak. During the first day of the install the installers used a multi-tool that causes minimal damage when removing the old windows. The second day the crew showed up with a Sawzall, which is designed for demolition, to remove more windows. This is where the nightmare began. On the windows where the installers used the Sawsall the inside frames of all the windows had considerable damage, deep gouges that could not be easily repaired.
When I brought this to the attention of the expert installer he said, "I can just fill the gouges with caulking". I explained to the installer that caulking is intended to be used for sealing the gaps around the windows and trim, not to be used in place of wood filler. The following day they attempted to use the Sawzall again and I made them keep the tool in their truck and not use it again at my home.
As the rest of the windows and doors were being installed I noticed scratches and defects on 27 windows and brought this to the attention of Newman leadership. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the quality of the installation and the window panes. The installers also broke a tile on my roof, left behind trash, and installed a couple of windows so bad I could not even close them without fear of breaking the glass.
So now not only did I have to keep calling Newman to get the work completed, Milgard had to come out and replace all the defective glass. This did not stop Newman from asking for payment from me but I pushed back and stated that if I pay them for the work I have no leverage in getting the work done, and done correctly. I even spoke to the owner of the company and he compensated me for the work I did to fix all the wood damage on the window frames after the Newman crew tried to fix it and did a shoddy job.
My first contact with Newman was April of 2021 and the work was completed on March 9, 2022. In a nut shell, do not believe anything you read on their website, the phone recording while you are on hold, or the Yelp reviews. There is still one patio door that has a defect but at this point I give up. This whole process has caused my wife and I a lot of stress in dealing with Newman leadership. Do yourself a favor and chose another company than Newman to do any work on your home.

DO NOT HIRE NEWMAN WINDOWS. Imagine the worst experience you could have with a contractor and I'll bet it's not as bad as my experience with Newman. This has been the biggest contracting nightmare of my life, and I've had a lot of nightmare situations having been in real estate for 25 years. It took Newman 6 trips to my house to *finish* my window installation - 2 times to actually put the windows in and 4 times to repair their horrible workmanship, which I'm still discovering problems. Here's a rundown as best I can recall, since they've failed so many times on so many levels that it's honestly hard to remember: 1st visit: Install 14 windows but they're missing two windows. Reschedule to come back when they have the windows.
Damage all 14 windows during installation (I paid $4k for custom frame color and they scratch almost EVERY SINGLE WINDOW FRAME and don't bother touching anything up). 2nd visit: This is in a second home so I'm not here full-time. I made arrangements to take time off work and fly in to be at the house for the last two windows to be installed. Workers show up without windows, despite me telling the company MULTIPLE TIMES that the windows weren't at my house.
So I miss work, waste money on travel and still don't have my last two windows. 3rd visit: They have the windows delivered but they don't have a third guy nor the type of ladder that's necessary to install one of the windows. 4th visit: They bring the extra guy and ladder, but have the wrong color touch up paint to fix literally EVERY FRAME that was scratched during install.
I paid an extra $4k for custom color frames and every single one was damaged during the installation. 5th visit: They bring the correct color touch up paint, but they literally put it on with a nail polish brush and it's dripping and running down the frames. Imagine spending $20k (the amount I paid for these windows) on a new car and paying extra to get the color you want, and it showing up all scratched.
And then they *fix* it by slathering on touch up paint with a nail polish brush. 6th visit: Finish window borders to cover up where they shot nails through to the interior of the house around the window frame. Current situation: Due to absolutely horrible caulking around one window, I have water bubbling up in my wall because rainwater is coming in from the failed caulking.
I'm not having them come back. I'm hiring someone capable of doing the most basic of workmanship in a competent manner. Take your chances with this one. I will literally tell every person I meet to stay away from Newman Windows.

The entire process of ordering, scheduling, and installing was so professional, courteous, pleasant, and personable. Michael started the impression by being incredibly accommodating during the sales cycle. The next stage was scheduling, and unfortunately I don't recall their name but the voicemail was courteous and accurate. Accurate because the installation team of Brandon M and Tyler L arrived ahead of the scheduled time, and completed the window replacement in less than one hour. Oh by the way, everyone wore masks and kept distances. Would recommend them, no concerns.

Horrible experience with Newman Windows and Doors. I am hoping that a post here will get someone in Management to return my calls. Still waiting for the job to be completed after scheduling in December and expecting installation on April 4th. The only proactive communication I have received has been to collect on the account for a job that remains unfinished! I do not recommend this company!

Just don't. We purchased new windows for our entire house from Newman and regret it. The following is a chronological list of problems we had with this company. And Newman's Windows, please, feel free to chime in if any of this is untrue. First visit to install all new windows: 2 windows wrong size and had to be reordered. Missing bathroom screen.
Window w/chipped glass installed kitchen, had to be reordered. Front room window broken, wouldn't stay up. Forgot locks window locks. Second visit: Only installed front 2 windows. Brought wrong size for missing bathroom screen. Mis-measured chipped kitchen window, had to be reordered again. Fixed front room window, broke again immediately. Brought wrong colored locks.
Third visit: Only fixed kitchen window. Brought wrong size bathroom screen again. Couldn't fix front room window. Said they weren't comfortable installing locks. Fourth visit: Came to check out installing locks. Didn't install them. Fifth visit: Only put in bathroom screen, said they had alternatives for locks. Sixth visit: The company that makes the windows came out and said they couldn't fix the front window because it was installed wrong. Seventh visit: Said they couldn't fix the bad install and had to order a new window.
Apart from all that, which took over 3 months and 8 visits to finally fix everything, their customer services is horrible. It can take more than a week for someone to call you back. And it seems that a lot of our problems came from the fact that Dakoda, our sales rep, mis-measured our windows. He also told us that we could get special locks for our windows, which apparently, according to the manufacturer, can't be done. Once again, just don't.

Update. 3.5 Months after the initial install, our problems have been resolved. It took them several visits, including one visit from a tech from the window manufacturer (who said that the problem was Newman's fault, not theirs), but they did see the job through. So, I'm giving them a D instead of an F. Maybe a D minus for being rude to my wife on the phone

Matt was a percent on this job We replaced two sets of french doors and everything went well under his follow thru and attention to detail. He sent the best he had for the fine tuning And followed thru with communication. We can not say enough good about him We are pleased with the outcome and glad we went with newman.

Russell came to provide a quote on two doors. He was on time and very courteous. I enjoyed speaking to him about what they could offer. Even though I changed my mind on color, he was patient. Just wish they offered a military discount, but I think their pricing was reasonable for the door they offer. Not sure if I will go with them or just buy doors and put them in myself, but they were easy to work with. Heads up for anyone else looking at doing doors, they are backed up until Aug/Sep on their schedule (3 to 4 months), so I would jump on it now if you want something done before the holidays.

We recently replaced all the windows in our home. The guys completed the job in 1 day and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely use them in the future and recommend them to anyone looking for windows. Bob Ryan initially came out, took the time to explain the process and answer any question I had. No pressure for the sale, very easy to work with.

From our initial measuring appointment with Russell all the way to the installation day with Richard, Roger, Micah, Andy, and Irving, this has so far been a great experience. The old windows in our home had fogged up horribly, and when we finally decided to replace them, Newman Windows & Doors did a wonderful job. They arrived on time, were very professional, and made swift work of it.
We were originally expecting that our 11 windows may take 2 days to finish, but they brought the right crew to expedite and get it all done in 1 day, which we very much appreciated. We now have beautiful windows that we love to be able to look out of again!

I had service problems with my Milgard windows. Phillip Phillips from Newman came out, contacted the factory, and instructed me how to get Milgard service from their website. It took Phillip close to an hour to help me, and at the end there was no "sale", and therefore there was no charge. How's that for customer focus! Thank you Phillip!

Working with Darren and his team at Newman Windows has been a great experience! Darren is trustworthy, very knowledgeable and most importantly delivers on his promises. I would highly recommend him and his company to install new windows in your home. The team showed up on time and even knocked out 17 windows and 2 sliding doors in 1 day as they put "all hands on deck".
The installers were friendly and made sure everything was up to par to our standards. Newman completed our install during the Covid19 pandemic and made sure their entire crew followed all safety protocols. It was amazing to see the teamwork and installation process in action. It made us realize how thankful we are for hiring professionals to do the job right the first time rather than us trying to DIY.

I used Newman to replace the windows and sliding doors in my rental condo. I was contacted quickly after I requested information. Our rep came to the condo and quickly did measurements and emailed the estimate. He knew I had a condo association and so he included all the documents I needed to complete the packet to submit, including company info, insurance info and specifics of the windows.
His information made filling out the form so easy and it was quickly approved. They arrived on time and went to work right away. The whole project was done by mid-day. Payment was easy and the windows and doors look amazing! I highly recommend them for their Milgard products with fantastic warranties and their great customer service.

Loved the professionalism and team work Diego, Richard and Edgar displayed while installing our windows. They did excellent job following CDC Guidelines and were very nice and detailed. Also they truly displayed teamwork which is what I love to see during these hard Covid Pandemic times. Thank you all so much now I won't burn and will enjoy my home so much more. Keep up the good work and professional attitude.

We love our new Milgard replacement windows and sliding doors! Newman's did a fantastic job installing them. They offer good quality, pricing and workmanship. We especially love the wood casings that we had them install around the new windows. This was extra but well worth the cost. The new windows are quiet and make our house much warmer when it is cold outside.
We decided to get rid of the grids on our front windows and we are so glad we did. I highly recommend Newman's Windows. Everybody was very pleasant and helpful to work with from Kevin at the Morena showroom to Greg our salesman to Aaron our installer.

We've had an incredible experience with Newman Windows! We are working with Kevin and so far, we have done 6 windows of different sizes and shapes for our 1912 Craftsman home. Arrived on time, perfect, and a great price. We did the install ourselves. Thanks guys! WE LOVE OUR NEW WINDOWS! We had no idea windows could make such an upgrade to a room.

We had Newman replace four small single-pane vintage 1980 clerestory windows with Milgard (StyleLine) double-pane windows this week. What a difference! Two Newman installers replaced the windows in about two hours, with some of the work being done on a ladder about 15 feet off the floor. They arrived on time, kept everything clean, installed everything perfectly, and we're extremely happy with the final result.
These windows overlook a flat roof where 9 HVAC compressors are located, and the reduction in noise is quite noticeable. Over half of our condo building (of 36 units) has installed (starting mid-2018) Milgard Style Line windows and Milgard sliding patio doors, and Newman has done 'em all, including ours. Quality windows, fair prices, installed by a very competent and professional a company. We are very happy with our decision to use and recommend Newman.

Newman windows made out home look great with the installation of Milgard Tuscany Windows. I did not really know what I wanted but I knew I needed new windows to revive our old house. Newman helped me figure out what would look good with our style of house. Our house looks great just in time for Christmas

We had a really mixed experience with this company. We upgraded all the windows, slider and patio doors on our home last year. The sales rep was some what attentive at first but once he had our order was non existent when it came to questions. The entire order consisting of 22 windows showed up a week before the install date. What do I do with all these windows?!
They sat outside under the back overhang and luckily nothing happened. For example theft or damage. When it came to install day the installers were a mixed group from experienced to what seemed like zero experience. How luck of me to have my windows and home be the training grounds for the company. When all was said and done we had minor corrections to some windows.
A broken or cut screen or two, poor caulking seals that later detached, a gash on one window frame, a scratched door knob on an exterior replacement door and they even installed the wrong window in the wrong room. *The window has a thicker glass for noise reduction which was slated for a specific room for install. The house was under a interior renovation before these guys showed up.
They sure did a number on my freshly painted walls and wood window sills. The scratches and gashes left behind are definite signs of a sloppy install. When they sent someone to correct the issue they might as well have sent a toddler to do it. The patch job was absolutely horrific and looked worse than the damage they created. The customer service is lacking and management non-existent when it came to picking up the phone, showing up and taking ownership of the many issues we experienced.
All in all you should cross this company off your list home renovations. I should've stuck with Dixieline! Lesson learned and I'll definitely be vocal to all my friends and family of my experience.

This is our second time of using Newman Replacement Windows. Years ago we had 5 windows replaced on the front of our home and they look as good today as the day they were installed. They looked and functioned so nice we decided to replace the 4 sliding glass doors on the rear of the house. Newman Replacement Windows was our only choice. The. doors were a 50th Wedding Anniversary gift to each other and we wanted them installed in time for our party (tomorrow). Tony & Junior completed the install yesterday with guidance from Augie and the doors look great.
They open and close with the use of a finger, made the house much quieter and we couldn't be happier. We were very happy with the service, cost and quality of the product. I recommend Newman Replacement Windows to anyone wanting quality and perfection. Oh, our name is Newman, but we are not related to the owners, but they treated us like family.

Our next door neighbors recently had their whole home's windows, etc. replaced by Newman Replacement Windows, and our neighbors recommended them to us. Newman's quote was from 25 - 50% less than the other two bidders. Newman replaced five windows and one sliding glass door in our small townhouse. We are exceedingly happy with the windows for. quality; and we are very happy with the workmanship, behavior, and professionalism of the installers.
The installers were punctual, and they made every effort to protect our new carpeting. When they left, you'd never know they were ever there, except the house was a lot quieter. "We love our new windows" and we highly recommend Newman Replacement Windows to everyone.

Newman has done my entire house and after one year I can report some exceptional results. We are spending less in the summer and winter on energy costs, plus the house is much quieter inside, which was such a nice surprise. We also appreciated how Newman made recommendations on changing the configuration of some of our windows and it has made such a big difference in views and airflow. They are true professionals.
