Our house received wind damage on Oct. 31, 2015. We hired J & J Remodeling Inc. of Crown Point, IN to do the work which included - siding, soffit, fascia, gutters, & windows. Windows were installed in one day, on a Saturday, but they did not finish the outside aluminum wrap on them. The wrap was not completed until about 2 1/2 weeks following the installation of the windows.
The siding was started about a month after that. They began removing the siding on a Wednesday, and I was told they would start on Friday to install it. A snowstorm was predicted to come in on Sunday, so we were thinking they would finish placing the siding on Saturday before the storm. No one showed up on Saturday. I called the owner and was informed they don't work on weekends.
Only one third of siding was put up before we received 8 to 10 inches of snow on Sunday. Then they could not come out on Monday due to the snow. I believe they came back to work on Wednesday following the storm. They had no respect of our property, they laid down ladders & scaffolding on my wife's rosebushes crushing them and braking off stems.
We had over 21 issues with all of the work. We had issues with everything except the gutters so far. Some of the issues included the siding being too short, too large of hole around PVC for sump pump, left old f channel for soffit, and dented soffit paneling to name a few. After they have come back to correct the issues there are still some items we are not happy with and some that were not completed, even though he was made aware of them.
We contracted with them on November 23, 2015 and he thought he was finished February 13. After we discussed the first 18+ problems and he corrected part of them we provided final payment on February 26th with additional issues to be completed. We are still not happy but we are done. I would like to give it in the negative stars if i good.
