What options do you have? Installing new windows or doors in your single-family residence can often be a bewildering experience. Which is right for your house? As the property manager of a multi-residential dwelling you need to answer to both the property owner and the tenants. Going with price is the easier, but rarely the best solution. What products will work for you? How many times have you received a call from a telemarketer who wants to know how old your windows and doors are and then immediately goes into a sales pitch?
Services
Bel-Air Exteriors has been serving the Los Angeles and Ventura County communities since 1997. Owner Larry Cohen provides new and replacement windows and doors for single-family homes and multi-family residential dwellings. Our goal is to make your experience a pleasant one. That's why we start by assessing your home's current challenges, whether it's draft, leakage, cold or hot temperatures or just time for new windows; accurately measure the existing space; and determine the best method of installation or repair.
Bel-Air Exteriors has been serving Southern California since 1997, providing quality windows and doors to homeowners and managers of multi-residential dwellings. We don't only sell windows and doors. We identify your challenges-leakage, sound issues, climate control-through careful inspection of your home.
Consumers tend to pay a lot of attention to the type of window and door frame they purchase without realizing that the glass, known as lights, plays a significant role in its overall functionality. If specified correctly, the glass or coating used should address climate control, energy efficiency, and noise levels.
Like windows, doors for your home can be customized to meet your individual style, as well as your climate and durability needs. If you live in an area with high winds, rain, ice or snow, you may not choose the same door construction as you would if you lived in an area with milder weather. To accommodate these conditions a home may have different windows on different sides of the house. Depending on your taste, doors are designed with sidelights (side panels with glass), a single elliptical, square or true arch.

Extremely unsatisfied Larry seems to be an honest guy until the contract is signed. Once you sign the contract he doesn't fallow through on his contract you have to chase and remind him what he promised. The product installed is not what he demonstrated in my house. I'm really not happy with the outcome of the installation and the service.

When we originally had the doors put in, it all went well. The salesman kept in touch until the doors were installed but never followed up afterwards. We had a problem recently and have had to wait quite awhile to get it fixed. Herman works on his own time. He is only willing to come out when he decides it's convenient for him. He does not follow through with returning phone calls.

After learning how much I can save on my energy bills I had Bel-Air Exterior replace all my widows. They were on time, professional and the price was right! (It's only been a month and can already tell the temps tire has changed dramatically). They were so wonderful I I had them put in new French Doors (where there was none) Again. Very happy!

They do not have a active contractors license. They did not have the correct insurance. They made a mess out of our windows and jerked us around in court for 2 years before filing bankruptcy and leaving us with bad windows and no money. Larry Cohen, Herman Danielly, and Bel Air are all unethical and left us out 60K with bad windows.

Was looking to do windows at my house, been hearing a lot of commercials lately on the radio from all of these window companies. Than I met a Mr. Larry Cohen at a networking meeting I attended, we talked and right then and there I realized he was the man. We got some beautiful windows installed at a great price. Have already given Larry's name to several friends of mine, and will continue to do so. If you are going to buy windows check out a few places, than call Bel-Air you will see the difference!

I'm very happy with my new patio doors! I actually had a problem with the installation of one set of doors. They were installed on top of the existing threshold and it made it too high t step over. I didn't notice it while the installers were here, so I called Herman as soon as I realized it. He was extremely accommodating, and sent the installers back the next day. They removed the doors and put them back in to correct the problem, no charge! Everyone was fantastic to deal with! They really try to make sure the customer is happy!

Needed some windows and met the owner at a home show, and now my home looks great. The owner Larry really knew his product, and helped me pick out the best windows for my house. I've already referred him to several friends! Be careful there are a lot of people that sell windows, and most of it is crapt! Bel Air is the place! Thanks Larry!

My experience with this company has also been extremely negative. My windows were replaced by this company a number of years ago. At that time I didn't deal with them directly - they were hired by the contractor working on my home. This year I noticed worsening damage to the wall in the family room that appeared to be due to water leak. A water testing was conducted and the report indicates "Window was improperly installed".
The company's website indicates that product warranties are for the life of the home. Over the last three weeks I have called this company eight times and sent a number of emails to request to have the window repaired at no cost to me. I provided a copy of the water testing report. Every time I spoke with Will (except once that I spoke with Herman), who always indicated that he didn't know when the owner Mr. Larry Cohen would be in.
Eventually Mr. Cohen left me a voicemail indicating that he would need to look at the window and asking me to call back. I have been calling back for three days in a row and leaving messages with Will every time; my calls and emails have not been returned. I also pointed out to Will that the license number listed on their website (750730) appears to be expired and asked for their current license number.
He addressed me very rudely: "What do you want? You are just trying to get money from us". I noticed that older reviews were more positive, but based on their current customer service (or lack thereof) I absolutely recommend against using this company.

My Update for my post on 6/17/13 Did we ever get our screen door fixed you asked? Yes, altho' it was like pulling teeth! The same thing happened when my hubby called (again) to set up the appointment. Herman never called back when Will said he was suppose to call. Like a broken record, my hubby called again & left a voicemail. Fast forward. Herman finally showed up @ 6:44pm on 12July2013.
It only took him about 10 minutes to fix our screen door! No kidding! Note: Herman said there is 6 people working on the team but before there used to be 11 workers. No wonder customer service has went downhill. I still would NOT recommend this company and the rating is still 1 star for customer NO service. ha! I also want to add Beware of some companies that are not local when you need them to do repairs.
From this experience, it was only nice at the beginning when I opened my wallet & bought their merchandise. It's a total shame my hubby & I are mistreated 'cause we live far away from their business. They don't want to be bothered if it's a problem (repairs). So, they avoid your calls or take Forever to get back to you.

Their motto is Bel Aire quality at Van Nuys prices. Well, the quality is Van Nuys too. They provided good installation work, were on time and there were no surprises except for the quality of the product. Especially the screen doors which we commented on immediately and were told that was the best there was. Well that is just not true. These screen doors don't glide and are flimsy; really cheap actually.
Not at all like sliding screen doors I had in my previous home. I wish they would have had samples to view when I placed my order. They came to the house making the process simple but I lost out because I couldn't see what I was getting. Live and learn.

Need one window repaired or replaced? Or all new windows? Or new doors? You must talk to Mike Weissenborn at Bel-Air. This company does great work, and I have had them replace my doors, and my windows. One week after the windows were replaced, an attempted break-in was foiled, because my new windows would not allow the burglars to get in before they were scared off.
The original windows in the house would have just popped out. They do a great job, clean up after it is over, and replaced all the windows in my house in one day, and that was a big job.
