I'm a DIY homeowner and I recently bought 7 of the MI replacement windows that they sell. The windows I wanted were in stock (unlike at the big box stores!) and they were priced at an amazing value. The install was super easy and I have been VERY pleased with them. The staff was friendly, patient, and very helpful, especially for the novice that I am. They were accommodating during COVID-19, letting me pay over the phone and have contact-free pickup of the windows.

I bought three wry expensive French out swing patio doors and a slider and Jack could not have been more helpful. Great advice, good knowledge of the product and was right on with the swing time for delivery. Three weeks in we had some issues on the job site and I needed to change the jamb width, Jack said give me half an hour and guess what he said don't worry they can make the changes! wow what a relief that could have been very costly. I won't go anywhere else for my doors and windows. Now I know why they have been in the same location since I was a kid. A great business Gary Barkowski

My experience with Dorchester Door & Window was exceptional! I called and asked if someone could email me so I could send them a google pic of the windows and half round I would like. No dimensions just a pic. They went above and beyond to work with me on finding the right size and pattern. The also did all this without me going to their storefront.

I shopped their price and 4 other providers of iM windows could not even match it. And that was the first quote figure they provided me. No haggling. They have been very professional, friendly and eager to assist and tackle an unusual request. I would highly reccomend them! Save yourself some time with building material shopping. Go see them!

They have a great selection of quality doors and door hardware. Staff can be frazzled. Good support after sale.

I ordered Awning windows over the phone. Special order they said comes in 2 weeks & 1 day after the order is sent. Today is 2 weeks & 1 day after the order was made. Picked them up at 11 am & the windows went in flawlessly. I'm really impressed by the quality of these windows too, the casings are nice, the crank folds down & tucks away into its own special spot when not in use. Gotta say it, huge difference in quality from what I've installed from the big box stores.

I read a couple reviews before posting this review. 1 star from Larry Jordan Jr. really, you ask if he you should paint or stain french doors & he says you can stain anything & that makes you freakout. 1st off its not his decision what you wanna do with your door & you were asking about different strains of wood? How about this, figure out what you want & then simply order it, why bust the guys balls with stupid questions that you should have the answers for before even ordering. Its people like you why i can't work in a great place like this, surprised the guy was so nice.

No effort to provide customer service/support. Be sure you know exactly what you are looking for when shopping here because you will not get the level of service one would expect when shopping for something that the average consumer generally doesn't know much about. We are in the middle of a significant home renovation and I went to Dorchester Door and Window looking for French doors.

The man who attempted to assist me did answer my questions but offered no useful suggestions. In fact, when I asked for his advice on wood species and suggestions for stain vs paint his response was "you can stain anything". He followed this up with several more condescending remarks which eventually made me decide to take my money elsewhere. As I was walking out of the door, I decided to return to let the man know why I would not be purchasing anything from Dorchecter Door and Window.

I told him that his demeanor and customer service skills were poor and I expected a better level of service from them. He responded by saying that he thought he did a fine job and that he answered any questions I had. He then went on to say that they have been in business for 40 years and they are doing just fine with the way they treat their customers.

I told him that I came there with limited knowledge of these products and expected they he would have been more helpful with offering suggestions. His response was, "it's not my fault you don't know about this stuff". My advice to him was act like you want people in your store and try not to run them out with an unprofessional attitude. He said, that he didn't need to change anything and that I should keep it positive. Wow, really? Customer service is dying. Please, local businesses--try harder to keep it alive.

Where is the negative ratings? John is horrible, yelled at me and my mom for asking a question, and he is the owner. With this attitude at the top, my prediction is that the business will be out in a few years.
