Being a family owned business, all of the Acker employees move between each of the manufacturing departments learning every aspect of the woodworking trade. However, we each have our own specialties creating a solid team of artisans with the ability to take on your job. After returning home from the army in 1956, Ken Acker began working with his father building homes in the Milwaukee area. Soon after, he saw a pattern developing: the cabinets they were installing did not arrive on schedule, creating a delay in the construction process.

We've had the privilege, as well as the pleasure, to have worked with the talented artisans of Acker Millwork Company for over a decade. My family and I have taken a great deal of honor in the restoration and preservation with intentions of maintaining our home's historic integrity. That being said, a local carpenter that we were working with, at the time, suggested Acker for the reproduction of century old milled profiles, windows and doors.

From our initial phone call, inquiring the possible scope of services, Mrs. Barb Acker was friendly, professional, and able to guide us in the direction full service. Pete Acker was our contact. Pleasant, professional, highly knowledgeable and detailed oriented, provided an array of comprehensive approaches and solutions to our project. He also shared some interesting facts regarding the capturing of early 20th century authenticity.

During the finishing and installation process, Jeff and Brandon Acker were on point. Prompt, courteous, professional and thorough, from set up to clean up. Again, a team of experienced craftsmen that addressed and rectified some of the challenges that come with 100 year old structures. As a collaberative effort, the results, were up and beyond our expectations.

In short, they were absolutley stunning! Completely hemogeneous with our home's Milwaukee Bungalow architecture, the reproductions embrace the structure as if they were an original fixture, not an addition. To our family the best compliment, especially from individuals that seek historic accuracy, is that of none or minimal discern. We highly recommend Acker Millwork Company for your mill and wood reproduction projects. Respectfully submitted, The Jacksons'
