All the Mezzo windows I received are defective. NONE of the glass panes are sealed to the sash frames, all the weatherstripping and seams have gaps - I can fit my fingers or a ruler in. The windows are NOT energy star - they did not have energy labels on them when I received them. My utility bills doubled in usage (triple in cost) vs my old windows.
Only tape and plastic I put on them kept winter air out for the 3 years we had them. We wear winter jackets in the house at 70F thermostat setting due to the drafts in winter. The AC practically doesn't shut off in summer at 74F setting. Alside was "still working on the warranty claim" I submitted at end of Feb. They say "4 weeks to process a claim" - not true- it is now mid May.
It seems IF they decide to do anything it may take a few more months. The call center reps provided conflicting information and they do not have supervisors or managers to assist handling claims. I received responses after I filed complaints with Ohio Attorney General's office, Akron BBB, and FTC for misrepresentation/ false advertising (FTC only acts if numerous people have the same issue with a company).
I should have done my research on this brand before I signed the contract. I discovered only recently after I asked Alside directly for my window specs that the dealer/installer in Peoria IL also promised me the ThermD glass package but instead gave me ClimaTech but won't correct it. I made a HUGE EXPENSIVE MISTAKE BUYING THESE WINDOWS! Update: June 2022 - Alside sent an inspector - then said my concern is not the result of a manufacturing defect covered by the warranty.
After multiple exchanges, the installer said he will get new sashes with correct glass package - will take at least 4-6 wks. Hopefully that will stop the air infiltration. That is all I wanted in the first place: to get windows I ordered without air infiltration or problems. (I have a balled up piece of cellophane to stop hot air coming in where sashes meet at the top of the large horizontal slider window - insulation was cut short allowing air in.) Will update after get new sashes. This entire process was extremely time consuming and unpleasant.

I am not the type of person to just leave poor reviews, I am very disappointed however. Moved into the house four years ago and my wife had a window break trying to clean it. Fast forward to present day, and after investigating for hours on who the manufacturer was I found it was Alside. I have called Alside's warranty department 11 times in the last month, with no answer!
I left my number 3 times to wait in line and get a call back, still nothing. I had to find other avenues to fix the window due to the fact I couldn't find anyone at Alside to speak to, and I couldn't fill out the online warranty because I didn't purchase the windows. While I was investigating who the manufacturer was and how to get the window repaired, I broke another window, come to find out, they were installed incorrectly.
We called three competitors and all they wanted to do was replace the window. I then found a company called Swisco, who looked at photos I emailed and they told me what parts I needed and shipped them to me! I installed the new pivot shoes and pivot bar on one of the windows last night, and not only does it work, it works better than it did previously because this time it was installed correctly. Swisco also sent video How To's!
In all the cost was $40 to repair both windows as opposed to a thousand dollar per window replacement cost from your competitors, because I never heard back from Alside. Oh and I still haven't gotten a call back, not that it matters now that I fixed the windows myself.

We purchased 18 Windows and a house full of siding from this company. The entire project was estimated to take approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks to complete tear out of windows, tear off of siding, replace windows, install new house wrap, new soffit/facia and new siding. The windows had been ordered 2.5 months ahead of the project start date with a 3-4 week delivery time.
Our contractor confirmed with Kathy that the windows where in and then started the tear off. The day of the tear off, our contractor was notified that the windows actually did not make it in as promised, and they could not be sure when the windows would arrive. Around the same time Alside stated that they held up the entire window order due to one window that was "damaged" but could not tell anyone what the problem with said window was.
Finally a month after the project started our house was completed. The customer service from Kathy and Alside was non professional and they were not willing to make things right (I had taken off 2 weeks of work, had a dumpster sitting for a month doing damage to our brand new driveway, our house was only partially sided and had to take on the elements of mother nature for over a month, during the high heat, rain storms causing higher cooling bills etc etc) Allsides response was this is construction and things happen, not to mention this is COVID time and one of their warehouses suffered damage from a tornado, which happened over a month from when the windows had been promised.
I would suggest to find another reputable supplier of windows and exterior products, lots of them out there that provide amazing customer service and stand behind their product. BUYER BEWARE!

They do not honor their warranty, my windows failed after 8 years and they want me to pay them to replace their LIFETIME WARRANTY garbage product, I have MOLD growing between at least 3 windows! I have to clean the mold every couple of months and it always comes back due to air leak's, EVERY window leaks air, NONE of them stay up, I have runs of moisture between the glass that can not be cleaned, buyer beware!

Slowest unloading ever. Came here at 2:00pm and still waiting 9:00pm. Employes dont care about you, only thing he keeps saying is stop talking to him. However they promised to unload me at 4:00, then 6:00pm and now he is saying it could take a while, though just one last pallet left. No management here, telephone guys is rude. Never gonna come back and suggest you to avoid that place.

One of this companies trucks turned to sharp on my road and took out the electric pole that fed my house. It tore the transformer off the pole and broke the electric pole in my yard. I was without power for 2 1/2 days because I had to have a pole brought from another part of Ohio This was last year and still no resolution from the company. They ignore my calls. I would not use them or buy from them if it was free.

This place is horrible to their workers. They do not care if you work hard. You are disposable to them and they make sure you no it. I was let go all because of a manager Tina lied and said I walked off. It wasn't looked into and when I called HR to explain I was told by the people that are supposed to help you that I'm not allowed back my word meant nothing even though I slaved for them.

We had Alside replacement windows put into our home about 8 years ago and couldn't be happier with the ease of use, style, and quality of these windows. They are still a breeze to lift up on a nice day, and easy to tilt out to clean. They keep our home cool in summer and warm in winter, unlike the drafty windows they replaced. But the best part of these windows is the amazing customer service we have received from Alside in Elk Grove Village.
Through the years, we've encountered a broken seal or two (we notice some dirt between the panes that we can't remove) and because of the great warranty, they are replaced at no cost by Alside. The Alside employees are so friendly and helpful- there is never a hassle. Kim, who has helped with these issues, is truly the best. She goes above and beyond! Thank you, Alside! And thank you Kim!

This place gives new meaning to slow unloading. Load of incoming glass had 8am appt but was told they wouldn't be able to start on my truck until 11-1130am (yep, right in time for lunch) Seems like the company has cut personnel so 1 guy is doing the job of about 4. At this point its almost 5 hours after appt time and only half unloaded. Then I will have to pull all the nails from floor of trailer since they are much too overworked for that!
