To the local, not hard to find. Out of town, maybe abit difficult. I enjoy DIY so a hardware store with knowledgeable staff and the right stuff for any particular project is a must. Probably find better price points at a big box store but there is something about local retail that is definitely worth a few cents more. I highly recommend.

My dad needed some special kind of bolt so he could replace the wheels on his walker. Big box stores are too big, and there's no one there to help find what you need. So, I took him to Hamel True Value. We went in and my dad was helped immediately. The man working there took my dad to the bolt section, and in no time, they found what he needed. It's hard to find customer service like this nowadays. Plus, I believe we need to support our local businesses more. From now on, when I need any kind of hardware item, I'm coming here first. If you live around Hamel, and need hardware, I encourage you to shop here.

I have recently made multiple trips for a variety of projects. The service, help and advice is invaluable. My favorite item of the season is "The Snow Plow" poly blade snow shovel. These are wonderful and worth the price. So nice finding what you want/need so close to home. Very friendly staff.

Old fashioned personal service complete with grumpy old men. I love this place as it has whatever you need. And if they don't have it, they will usually direct you to where you may find it. Makes you remember the simpler times of years past.

This place is great! The service you would expect and their prices are very competitive with the big box stores. I ordered a new Marvin window and not only is the quality way better than one from Lowe's, the service was amazing. The knowledge these people have cannot be found at any other box store.

I have developed an ongoing relationship with Hamel Building Center and found them great to work with. However, the reason for this repeat business is the ongoing replacement of my ROTTING Marvin Windows. My house was built in 2003, and Marvin has been aware for many years of the defect in design and assembly which is causing this rotting. It is a long slow process, so Marvin has been doing its best to hide behind the 10 year warranty in responding to the many thousands of customers who bought these defective windows.

I have been fortunate to find a few Marvin employees who have done all they can to help, but it is truly the tip of the iceberg. The cost and aggravation of this sporadic but continuous rotting of sashes appears to be never ending. I replaced a sash in January, and recently discovered two more rotted ( I opened the window and the bottom ledge was disintegrating) sashes which cost over $700 each plus the labor to paint and install.

I understand that things can go wrong in the design and production of anything. But, Marvin is a large company which advertises itself to be an industry leader in high quality products. They have an ethical obligation to take responsibility for rotting they knew was coming long before 10 years, but simply chose to hope the rotting would progress slow enough to give them a legal defense for their defective workmanship. So, if you consider Marvin, do so with the other low end window companies which may or may not cause you regrets. But, if you are going to spend top dollar, please choose a company like Anderson Windows where the executives may actually walk the talk.

This place is a hidden gem. I needed 2 replacement windows. The Hamel Building center carries quality name brand windows. I chose Marvin for my project and could not be more pleased. The window department is run by Kent L. He is very knowledgeable, detail oriented, thorough and customer focused. The installers are very professional. doing an excellent installation followed by a complete clean up of my site. If you need windows, this is the place. I highly recommend the Hamel Building Center.

I forgot material for a job nearby, so I stopped in to grab the stakes for which I was looking. The employees there helped me find an even more inexpensive material than what I had originally brought up to the register, saving me money. Their kindness and honest was definitely appreciated.
