There isn't many companies left with the caliber of employees that Sun Door has. The Estimating staff is thorough and helpful. Project Management is proactive and well documented and the field carpenters are expert. Sun Door has been around for a long time - and there is a reason. They are my go-to company!

Sun Door has great employees and installers. Professionals that take care of their trade and take pride in their work. I enjoy having them on my commercial construction projects. As a Superintendent in the valley for 30 years I have used many Door subs - Sun Door is by far my first choice whenever I get the opportunity.

I worked for Sun Doors for 2 weeks. It is basically a small construction company. The owner (John) is condescending to his employees. He is very harsh, which is understandable, due to it being a small company. No excuse for degrading his employees! If you are looking for work, pay is around $13 to $25. He wants many years of experience for $25. I've worked for substantially more accomodating door installation companies in the past, both in pay and work conditions. John has had former Carpenters Union affliations in the past, but the company is a non-union shop. There isn't any end of year cash bonuses and no benefits at this time. Good luck if you want to give Sun Doors a try!

John is a very active and involved owner. He is a hands on boss. He is always willing to listen. He expects an honest days work for an honest days pay. The work he and his team produces is outstanding. If you want to work for a stable, honest company then this the place. If you are looking for a place that has policies and follows them, then this is the place.
If you are dependable, hardworking and honest, then this is the place. BUT.if you are looking for a place to slack off, not show up, want to do things your way, then it is NOT the place for you. Good quality workmanship, teamwork, ethical business and honesty.you dont find that much anymore! Wish there were more business owners like John Hyde!

John, the CEO, who is also in charge of scheduling is absolutely rude. If you want to get a door installed that won't open and close once installed, this is the guy to call. When there's an issue with the doors, John goes out of his way to rudely make sure that the scheules and said times to resolve the problem, never happens. Spend your money elsewhere, great customer service is not a priority for Sun and Door Trim.

The CEO of the company seems to be a stand up man. Honest, hard working, and most of all a straight shooter which is admirable in my book. John has all the tools necessary to lead a successful business. However, his employees seem to have a genuine dislike for this man that goes above and beyond your typical boss/employees relationship. He seems to treat his staff as peasants, he belittles them in a manner you would scold a child for misbehavior.
Not necessary and deffenitely not beneficial to company growth. This seems to trickle down to the work done in the field, the work is below average at best. The art of communication, is the language of leadership. Leadership is absent from this company. I worked for them for about a month and witnessed first hand what was going on and red flags were everywhere.
I finally left when I was told I could only use the restroom when permitted. There may be better options out there for employment and desired work. Of course, with a grain of salt.
