American Door

Our 8 by 3 ft slider shattered during the night so we called American Door the first thing in the morning. Paul answered and I told him we would like someone to come out and give us an estimate to replace the whole door or an estimate for French doors which would be 4 big doors - Paul nicely took down my address and said he would give the information to Dave and he would come out and do the estimate.

Well I waited all day and no call or no show. I finally called them around 4 and Paul connected me to Dave. He said he really busy cause the rain has slowed him up but I'm on his radar. Well nothing from them that day so the next day I figured they would call or just come, NOTHING FROM THEM. Common courtesy and professionalism would tell you to call your customer and at least give them an update on your arrival or delay!

Three days later and Not a word or call! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! They aren't the only ones busy and a courtesy call is worth a lot for a business to show they have great customer service! THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND AMERICAN DOOR!

This was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Dave came, measured and designed my door, he listened to what I wanted and worked toward my desire. Paul, the owner, was the reason why I went with this company. When I walked in for a consultation he didn't try to impress me like a salesman with sales tricks and glam. He was honest, kind and made me feel like a person not a transaction which is what I get from other companies. Frank, in the office was so sweet and patient with me, he answered all my questions.

And last but not least Mike was exceptional with the painting of the doors. I signed off of my sample he painted and he made the door EXACTLY EXACTLY how I dreamed for. His skills are off the charts! Overall, this company's quality of work and customer service was outstanding, it was truly a great experience and I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

I had an issue with a commercial door that needed to be fixed before we could close for the day. Frank sent over Michael the technician within 20 minutes and had it back working within an hour. The Michael then came back a day later to adjust it for us to ensure many more years of use. Great response time, fair prices and knowledgeable staff, all the way around!

Beware! Read the reviews! This is a bad company that does not stand behind the products & poor workmanship. Dave is rude and accepts no responsibility, there is absolutely no customer service. The paint bubbled & peeled soon after installation which I paid to correct and then the same problem occurred again. Now Dave places the blame on me, not the door and its installation. Stay away! Lawsuit is forthcoming!

The bad reviews on here, especially as they relate to Dave, are very similar to my experience with this company. We used them on a small project and found Dave to be very unprofessional, rude and snide in his dealings with us. He blamed everyone else for door measurement issues and for their delays on the project and then tried to charge us more than was agreed upon in their proposal.

I would definitely NOT recommend them for any type of project. If they act this way when dealing with another company, I can only imagine how bad they are with private individuals.

Read other reviews here and don't ignore them! Stay away from this company even if they offer you a remarkable price because it's not worth the hassle they will put you through. The owner Paul is extremely rude and unprofessional. He will make excuses for everything, cusses, and hangs up on you when he gets upset which doesn't take much. Shortly after our front double doors were installed we noticed the routing lines on one door were not even with the other door.

After many arguments, they finally came out, left us with a temporary door for months while they fixed it. Then six months in, the same routing lines cracked and the rest of the stain started to fade and peel. More arguing to come and fix/repaint. The repaint color was ultimately never matched correctly and we just had to accept it. Now two years in we have water leaking through the glass on the door when it rains. Paul of course refuses to acknowledge this or try to resolve.

More arguing, but this time he says to take him to court so we will be taking him up onthat request since he has left us no choice. Over my lifetime I have had plenty of expereince dealing with different companies and contractors, some bad and some good, but this is by leaps and bounds the most unprofessional experience I have ever dealt with.

American Door Company was THE best home improvement vendors that we worked with in our time here in South Florida. The entire staff team was courteous, respectful, hard working, and very efficient. From initial sales/pre-installation to the install team and permitting. Everyone was a pleasure to work with on this project! American Door Company was the ONLY company willing to take on our project, which was a single door replacement for a new hurricane door.

Their competitors snubbed their noses at us, turned us away, and wouldn't bother to entertain our project. American Door Company took on our small project, without hesitation, and showed exemplary service at every step. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone in the area.

Owner super rude & made inappropriate comments regarding the origin of my husbands last name & spelling. We were quoted for work with a military discount, told the price included paint and then were gouged in the end without the discount and charged for paint. Owner also attempted to put a lien on our house, you're lucky we even paid you what you quoted us for! Only reason for the 2 stars is because the door actually came out perfect.

So, I stopped by the store an had the pleasure of meeting Paul and Frank. Paul was extremely knowledgeable and very kind. I explained to him that I was looking to replace my double front door and possibly my bifold doors. The next day the sales man, Dave came by my home, late, which thru off my whole morning and was very nice and friendly at first. Sat down and I began showing him what I liked, long story short, as soon as I told him I couldn't spend 7000$, he pretty much was done with me at this point. Told me he had other client's to see. Gathered his belongings, said his goodbyes, an left! WTH!

I was so taken aback that it didn't occur to me until a few minutes later that I never even spoke with him about the bifold doors! I'll definitely go elsewhere! Not a positive experience.

Crooks that deliver trash! sales, service, and most important the product. From A to Z this place is terrible. I will be taking them to court. They took $5000 from me and delivered absolute trash. I purchased a custom stained double door with custom routed detail lines. When the doors were deliverd the routed lines were not even or centered by 2 inches on the doors, when I called the owner Paul said "wow I didn't think you would noticed, what do you want me to do" After taking the doors back and waiting 3 months they then delivered the doors with holes in the routing lines and drip marks on the doors. Dave their salesman literally tried to tell me it is supposed to be that way.

The stain lasted less than 3months before caking up and fading. They sent a guy out to try and fix it but ended up spraying the door the wrong color and not addressing the holes. Now I am left with a door the wrong color and holes in the routing lines. I will be seeing these guys in court. Do not give them a dime. additionally they phone reception personal are just plain rude.

After some frustration getting answers on impact fiberglass doors at the big box stores or even color samples to choose from, I found American Door. My experience went from the frustration of unanswered questions and confusion to being in the hands of a professional team who does this day in day out. Because I tend to be a little indecisive when it comes to color, one of my favourite things about American Door is that they do their own staining and it was great to see the artisans working in the back on other doors and colors. Helped me a lot to see.

The door is a beautiful impact door & hurricane rated for my wind mitigation needs. I love the installation and now the door is a part of my furniture rather than just separating me from the outside world. Communication was great as was the advice on look, color, scale for door and hardware. Thank you American Door!

We searched a lot of entry door vendors before coming across American Door. We wanted a two-tone door, white on the inside and stained to match our exterior on the outside - these folks were the only ones who were able to offer this; they also had a beautiful sidelight to go with the door. Today our new door is installed and you'd think we have a new home - it is beautiful! Not only did they do an amazing job with our door, the staff was friendly and helpful through the whole process. We will recommend American Door to anyone.

Dave came onsite and from day one, we felt good about choosing American Door for our warehouse emergency exit doors and frames. He was fast, professional and knew exactly what we needed to meet our inspection. The material showed up ahead of schedule and they sent Mike out to do the job. Mike was here everyday (early) and worked all day until the job was done. His workmanship is exceptional! From sales to service, we highly recommend this company.

Beware, I wouldn't give these clowns a dime and not surprised that others have been burned. Needed a special sized door was told by the guy they would call me right back. No call for 3 days, I call then and am shuffled around to some bozo who wants $1050 to put a door in that I just found somewhere else for $179. But this bozo says he'll take a look and call me in a few minutes, got my number, and never heard from them again.

Do NOT do business with this company. I'm warning you. Took months to get this job done (it was just a single door), and had to repeatedly call over and over again to finally get it installed. Then, when they had to come back for a final additional piece, they gave me the price over the phone, but then charged my credit card for even more. Total nightmare from start to finish. The door doesn't even look that great!

Dave, Paul, Jared and the rest of the American Door Co team have been great. We ordered two doors for our home. The door we ordered was special order and took a few months to arrive but totally worth the wait. Attention to detail was important and we got that. These guys are super busy but worth the wait. Will definitely use them next time we need to install any new doors. Oh and you can have custom stains done on your door. Ours came out fantastic.

I called on Saturday and spoke to Paul the owner regarding a dozen plus door needed within two weeks. He invited to stop in on Monday morning. After meeting he said he would have quotes worked up for me the next day. The following morning I called asking to stop in to correct a few measurements, I was told he would call me right back, After a few hours and being in the area I called again and told he was gone for lunch, I ran some more errands and called a third time, he said sure stop by, We corrected the measurements and he said he would have quotes to me that afternoon if not tomorrow.

Two days go by and no communication, I text him for an update and his response is that my urgency is not his and he doesn't jump for every walk in. I texted back that I dont want to waste his time and need to move on at this point. He texted back he is not Hudini. Ive been in business over 38 years and this is first entrepreneur Ive ever experienced with such a rude, disengenuous disposition, He delayed my project by a week, caused me to drive to his shop 3 times, led me to believe he was interested in selling me a dozen new doors and one custom door and as it turned out he was just wasting my time, maybe passive aggressive for the all the no shows, I would never recommend this guy out to anyone, dont waste your time here! He will lead you on and burn you in the end

Fantastic job by Steve Landis, door installer and Paul the owner or manager. I called American Door Company and spoke with Paul. He came over my house for quotes. He is very nice and polite guy. He offered to do this door install same day. He checked with Steve over phone about availability. Within Two hours, Steve Landis came with his truck and cargo.

He is a professional door installer not handy man. At original, I hired handy man to do this but he never showed up after measured the door for frame work. Steve have everything what he did on my door for just 2 and half hours. Beautiful job. I am so thrilled to had American Door Company took care what I need for this door. Tip: never hire handyman for the door repair or installment. Only professional company like Paul and Steve's.

I purchased doors from a catalog provided by the salesman named David. The doors were installed and did not look like the door in the catalog. I went to the business the next business day and was told they could not do anything about it. I asked if they would just put my old doors back and was told no. I explained I was not looking for anything free and would be willing to either pay to have my doors put back or get different doors at a fair discount.

The salesman called me later the next day and said he would have a painter come with him the following day to see if they could paint the doors to look like the ones I ordered. He did not show up or call. I spent almost $6,000 to have these doors installed.

I'm completely satisfied. They had the product I wanted at the right price. The installation was expertly done. I couldn't be happier.

Top notch and professional from beginning to end. Dave, has a great eye and is a big help with the decision making. The owner is a really nice guy and very easy to deal with. The installer, actually a contractor, Steve does excellent work. Fit & finish all great, works clean and when he is finished, the job is done. Unlike other companies that don't put the finishing touches, be it cement, molding, filler or whatever may be needed for a truly beautiful and complete job. We would use them again in a heartbeat! Hard to find businesses like this today.

I have purchased three entry doors, two impact and one non-pact on three different occasions. All three installations were done professionally and in a timely manner. One entry threshold was particularly challenging as it had been cemented into place. The installer did an amazing job of chipping it out without causing any damage. I am a very satisfied customer with the whole experience start to finish with the owner, salesman and installers. Great small business with good customer service and a nice showroom for design ideas for doors, windows and hardware.
