Southern Front Door did a great job replacing our front door last week. Ricky was great to work with, helped answer a ton of questions, responded almost immediately, and found an awesome door for us. Best part was it was in stock and they had it installed less than a week later. Looks great and the installer was a true professional. Hand measured and drilled everything in site. It looks great, opens/closes perfectly, and is air tight. Very impressed, and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new door. Thanks again!

Wow. My Mid Century door is spectacular. The whole experience was great. The door I wanted had to be custom made since it's an uncommon design. Ricky Burleson was great to work with - very responsive and understood the look I was wanting. The install was also great. Juan's craftsmanship is beautiful. I'm absolutely thrilled with my new door.

After much research online and in person, we found Southern Front, to custom make our front door, according to HOA regs. Ricky was responsive and highly professional. He proposed solutions to all the challenges. They were super easy to work with. Months after, we had some small issue with the door, Ricky immediately agreed to do the minor adjustments, even though outside the terms of warranty.
The re-installation was perfect. The personnel (Francisco) who installed the door were very professional, and did an amazing job. Although we do not leave comments usually, we were moved to leave an outstanding comment and high recommendation for this company. We were very impressed with this company.

Best customer service. Although I was not thrilled by my brand new double door due to couple mid perfections in stain & installation but Steve, Ricky & Francisco did their best & made everything to perfection. Thank you all for great team work in customer service. A big thumbs up. You will be pleased with confident & support you receive from Southern doors. I'm happy for my choice:))

We've done our share of remodeling, rebuilding and re-plumbing this year. We decided to replace the front door as part of this project. I searched the web to find exactly what I wanted and Southern Front had exactly what I was looking for. Contact was fast and easy. I spoke to Becky and she provided all the information to me about the door and colors/stains available.
The door is not a standard size, so there was some additional cost involved to get it to fit. However, the price I was quoted, was the price I paid. There was none of this nickle and dime stuff. Then came the install. We had a delay due to other construction going on and I didn't want my new door damaged. No problem, Southern Front work with me for a different install day.
When that day arrived, the installers showed up with EVERYTHING they needed to remove the old door and lights and install the new. It was completed in one day and is the best part of our remodel project!

What I want everyone to know is that this company is a fantastic, trustworthy business. Our salesperson Ricky was so easy to deal with. We picked out the front door we wanted from their website including the stain color. The entire process was so incredibly easy! And the gentleman that came to hang the door was a true, experienced professional. If you're in need or want of a new door(s), look no further. This business has everything you need!

There are a large number of beautiful doors to choose from. Salesman, Mike Simon's is very knowledgeable and was helpful in choosing a new fiberglass door. The guy they hired to install the door and door frame was nice and a skilled carpenter. We're going to be replacing our two front doors and will definitely go back to Southern Front.

My initial buying experience at Southern Front was perhaps the worst I've ever encountered, anywhere, buying anything-- and I'm not a hard to please kind of person, but I do like to iron out details. Let me warn you, stay FAR FAR away from Ricky at this place, ask for Becky or any other sales person. Ricky is about as personable as a rock--you will be inconveniencing him with every question, he will only help you look at doors on the showroom floor if it isn't too hot for him or if it doesn't interfere with his 3PM? "lunch break".
I guess he mainly deals with contractors and builders over the phone and doesn't regularly have to deal with homeowners/real people in person directly--it shows. Even worse, he will try to SCAM you by purposely NOT mentioning ongoing special prices for the exact doors you are buying (I found the "special" on their Facebook page right before buying and the difference was over $600 cheaper! but of course, Ricky conveniently never mentioned it to me.) When I questioned pricing he got aggressive--literally telling me over the phone with a major attitude "look, do you want the doors or not?." Who says that to a customer about to spend thousands of dollars?!?
I felt very taken advantage of and really shouldn't have given them any of my money after this little stint but wanted to be done with my door selection. Maybe its because I'm a woman he felt like he could talk to me like that or that I'd never know I wasn't getting their best price.but it was shameful. The manager got involved, sent me to Becky who was nice and helped me.
The doors turned out good in the end but it was a bad/humiliating experience. There is a lot of room for improvement here at Southern Front. Ricky has to go. I also would have liked a phone call to confirm install date/time and a phone call after to make sure install went smoothly--that did not happen. A lot of the showroom floor door stains are outdated and not representative of true stain color due to age.
They don't have sample chips of stain colors for you to take home to try in your light, they don't offer painted door options. Try shopping around elsewhere if you are looking for a good and personable customer service experience.

Door looked good, frame done well. Not built well. 5 years later my door is rotted. No I have not flooded. The seams on the woodwork apparently were not sealed well. Yes it has a polyurethane coating. Water had got down into those areas not sealed/and or glued, and had no way out. I thought the door just needed to be refinished and when I called to ask them about it they were really rude and told me to go look online somewhere. (Don't bother calling and asking any questions after a purchase).
So I got a couple of referrals for door refinishers and had 2 people tell me now that the condition of my door is rotted due to poor construction, therefore trapped water and a very bad situation. Of course I called SFD and asked them what the warranty was on a front door and the woman was so incredibly rude as always, and she said 1 year. I said well my door is rotted I don't suppose you guys would back that up, and she said no I don't think so.
I know it's 5 years old but if my door was rotting because of poor construction, I would've been offering at least a discount for another door. Besides most are warrantied 5 years. Michael Berry recommended this company and my husband is a big fan of Michael Berry so he insisted on using them. I will be contacting Michael Berry and even sending pictures.
It's not like I'm jumping on here making a bad review without trying to give Southern Front Doors a chance. I have tried to communicate with them but they won't even talk to me about, nor seemed the least bit concerned. I honestly don't want see anybody else spend $2000 on a door and have it rot in a few years.

These guys were awesome. My husband and I purchased a solid wood door from SFD and I can't say enough good things. The quality of the door is amazing, the salesman who helped us was great about keeping in touch throughout the process, and the installer that put it in was top-notch - he even repaired some damage to our frame. The only downside was it took a little longer to come in than we were initially quoted.but the result was worth the extra wait.

Very impressed with this company and the excellent service! The doors turned out much more impressive than could have even imagined. This made the entry way feel completely new and much more secure then the doors that were there before! The employees that completed the installation did an exceptional job. Before even starting to place the doors up they made sure to have me take a look, making sure they were the right doors and had not one scratch or blemish. The staff even cleaned up all the mess afterwards. Highly recommend this company and the flawless service.

Door actually looks good, which is to be expected for the price. But the rest of experience, especially installation and after sales service is completely below average. If you choose this company, you better be sure to go over every single detail ahead of time. They stained our brick mould and trim surrounding the door the same color as the door.
This is not customary. We called and spoke to office and they wanted to charge us to come back out to correct THEIR mistake. Also, the installer damaged our interior door trim pretty bad as well, just like a previous reviewer on Google had mentioned. We will have to pay a painter to fix or replace the trim now. I would proceed with caution with Southern Front Doors. Our experience with them was from Feb-Apr 2018

Getting our new front and back door from Southern Front Door was one of the best decisions we made during our recent remodel. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Becky was our customer service representative and she was great. She walked us through the process and made it as simple as possible. I could not be more pleased with the doors and installation. I will recommend them to all my friends and family.

This is the best specialty Home contractor I have used since I moved back to the Houston area 4 years ago. The quality of their products and the quality of their installers are head and shoulders above any other specialty home contractor I have used. They showed up when they said they would, brought the correct product finished exactly as they promised, took the time to install it properly and CLEANED UP THE AREA WHERE THEY WERE WORKING! My wife and I are very pleased. You can get what you pay for. Therefore we have the best front door on the street and on the neighborhood. Tommy and Deb

I have been a GC for 21 years. I have dealt with 100's maybe 1000's of vendors for various products and services that support my industry and business. Some better than others; some needing to find a night class in customer relations and cost of customer acquisition. Southern Front is the latter. Advertising on one of, if not the best radio talk shows will only get me in the door.maybe.
Once I'm there it is paramount to keep me. As a contractor I'm the the guy that will come back and purchase multiple doors for projects.or not. News Flash. It's not the home owner or weekend warrior that will sustain your business. It's me! Good luck, but I will continue with my suppliers that have earned my loyalty and repeat business.

We went to Southern Door because of the Micheal Berry recommendations on his radio show. The lady we dealt with listened to all of our needs and questions and promised to email us quotes of the door we chose with different types of wood. She took my husbands business card and also my phone number. We never heard back from her. That was at least 6 months ago. Guess they don't need the business.

I jut got my beautiful ebony doors installed with the magnificent leaded glass last week. I am thrilled how they look. These doors were shipped to Maryland and everything came perfectly. I dealt with Cheryl in production who could not have been more helpful and went the extra mile the entire time and Becky who answered my questions and was eager to help me.
I was nervous buying doors out of state but am thrilled of the result. It has completely changed my entry way for the better and I adore the look. The workmanship is excellent.

I spent many months comparing doors, quality and pricing. I was initially attracted to Southern Front because of their customer service and competitive pricing. It took me months to decide on style, finish and glass. Becky, my customer service rep. was extremely patient, very knowledgable and responsive. The lead time on my doors was 8-12 weeks. It took all of 12 weeks. Needless to say, I held my breath, having paid in full upfront.
I had never placed such a large, expensive online order, site unseen but can now report that the doors and sidelights are installed and they are absolutely stunning. Although expensive (I purchased double front entry doors in mahogany w/glass and custom side lights) Southern Front's price was UNBEATABLE. I would highly recommend Southern Front and Becky, specifically.

I had a very long and drawn out situation with Southern Front Doors. I purchased two doors from them, and after 8 weeks, they were ready for installation. It was longer than I was told, but good work should be expected to take a long time to complete. However, upon installation, they did not properly fabricate my front door, as they installed the wrong glass.
They assured me that the proper glass would be installed, and they would come out and replace it. When they did, the installers (who were only doing what they were told) tried to replace the glass, but in doing so, damaged the wood of the door, effectively destroying it. I was not pleased, and they replaced the door in about two weeks time. Of course, when it was time to reinstall the door, they told me that there would be a wait, as their installers were booked up.
I had to remind them that I had priority, as my door should have been properly installed long ago. They came out two days later. I finally had a front door. Had they had better quality control, this never would have happened. On my second door, which was supposedly purchased from a third party (and therefore cheaper) was installed, I immediately noted some poor craftsmanship on the exterior.
For one 14" long section, there were 17 nail holes in the piece of wood. A bit excessive. My concerns were heard, but ultimately, were discounted as they said they saw nothing wrong with it. (even the installers, when trying to fix it, agreed that it was poor workmanship) Eventually, I talked to the owner who reiterated that they would do nothing to fix it.
He told me that they manufacture those doors, so it's not a "third party". And he instructed his workers to put more nails in the mouldings, as they had had problems with them falling out. Why not just use better adhesives, and create tighter joints, rather than just destroying beautiful wood with nails? Where is the craftsmanship? I'm resolved that they did poor work, and won't do anything to fix it.
Be warned! Sam, the owner, was very matter of fact that he saw nothing wrong. He faulted me for choosing a natural finish, whereby his workers couldn't fill the nail holes with putty and blend it in with the stain. He was shocked that I would choose a natural finish because I enjoy the natural beauty of the wood! Imagine that! Anyway, I spent $1000 on a door that looks poor, and I will be sure to tell everyone that asks where it came from so they can avoid making the same mistake as me. It's sad.

Ok, so I'm looking for entry doors, and someone online at my homebuilding forum mentioned Southern Front doors. I thought that it would be a long shot, since I'm in California, and they're in Texas, but I contacted them anyway. Jason (ext 21) called me back, and he was INCREDIBLE in answering quickly, efficiently, and was also able to not only match, but completely blow away other quotes that I had received! it helped that I found a door that I liked from one of the big companies (look at MAI, and Glasscraft for wood doors), so it was much easier to get a real apples-to-apples bid.
Definitely go get some bids, but then contact Jason, because he'll definitely match the quote! I'm very happy with them so far. Will try to update when I receive my doors! PS: They're known as Southern Front, but they're also known as TexasWholesaleDoors.com, and I guess they do stained glass, but I have no idea why it's listed in Yelp as a stained glass company.
