If I could leave 0 stars I would. I haven't done it yet but I'll be reporting this company to the bbb. Came to install my windows and my wife had to kick them out of the house because they were extremely rude and abrasive. Threw dirty tools in my infants crib. We lost our $1500 deposit on our windows because we didn't let them even start with the install. Don't use this company!

I had a very good experience, the salesman Glenn was very knowledgeable and patient in helping me decide which door was right for me. When it came to installation day the crew showed up right on time and they were very skilled at their trade, I could tell they had many years of experience. When they were done it looked like a million bucks!

Had a great experience with Protector Window & Door. Kenny, the salesman, came to my house and educated me on all the features and options. The custom doors took a little longer than I had hoped, but the installation team was very professional and did a great job. I just love my new doors! Would highly recommend to my friends and family.

If I can give 0 STARS I would. I am leaving this review because my husband and I have hired this company to fix our kitchen window. 2 people came out to take measurements (they tried to send a third, but what for if they took measurements the 1st 2 times?). We payed them 50%, scheduled installation, and have been waiting on our window since October of 2021.

We've followed up and reached out to them (via visits and phone calls) AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT SHOWED UP TO COMPLETE THE JOB nor return a call. I no longer want their service. I have even reached out to get a refund (in which they don't do) - no one follows up. They are scamming their customers! PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY WITH ALL COST! See y'all in small claims court!

I would give this place a negative star if I could. DO NOT do business with them! They are expensive and their products are garbage. They only offer a one year warranty on their products but still charge $250.00 for a service fee to come out and inspect the problem, but if you decide not to get the product repaired then you just lost your $250.00.

I spent $4500.00 in 2020 on two door shutters that I can't even use because I have the same issue with them both. What a waste of time and money. MY advice is to STAY AWAY from this place!

This is the absolute WORST company I have ever dealt with! CAUTION if you take the risk and use this farce of professionals BEWARE of the window shutters mine was missing parts and showed damage upon installation. It didn't work after the first 48 hours. I have the battery operated shutter on my living room window and boy oh boy was this a mistake.

Just became operable from 2/28/22 until 3/16/22 a whole 16 days! Then instead of it rolling down it just DROPPED! I want my full refund plus some and this trash removed from my house. By the way there is no 24 hour emergency service.

Horrible customer service I scheduled an appointment in November I sent pictures to Roz showing her what was needed and how it was a safety hazzard and a concern of mines. My appointment was scheduled between 10AM and 2pm on a Friday by 2:10 I called to see was a technician still coming because I had to leave for work by 2:50pm so let me know something by 2:30 pm no call came in so I called off work expecting service from this company. Called came in at 2:50pm saying the technician had called off work if was ture I should have known that the morning of to reschedule however the first person I talked to at 2:10pm said the tech was held up on the westside. Rescheduled for Saturday Kevin shows up and confirmed he was held up on the westside he did not call off and the kicker was Kevin was not a technician but a sales representative.

That was unable to fix my problem. He informed me he will let the company know my needs of concern and someone will get back to me by it being a safety hazzard issue. I Have yet to hear from the company. I called December 13th a month later to speak with the technician manager. However the sales manager refuse to relay a message and wanted to handle things herself even though she is not in the same building nor the manager of the department. My time and a day of work missed why and I was not compensated at all. By a company that does not listen to clients and have no regard for people safety or concerns.

I had them put in a security door for me and June 2021 and I called to let them today l let them know that the screws is coming lose and they want to charge me again for coming out and parts. I said no thank you.

RUN, RUN FAST, RUN HARD. Had an appointment for 10/26. No show, no call. I called and was given another appointment for 10/27. No show, no call. I called on 10/28, the call was not answered. Left a voice-mail message, have not received a response. On 10/29 send a certified letter requesting refund of security deposit. Have received no reply. Now they have the door and the security deposit. SAVE YOURSELVES, RUN.

Horrible experience! Hi schedule an appointment for an estimate and after an hour of the appointment time, I call to check to see where they are at their office number. I was there until it would take another hour for the estimate man to come to my home which was outside of my original appointment time. I told them that was unnecessary and I needed to schedule a different time.

I was in hung up on by their scheduler Lady with a very bad attitude. She was very nasty you told me I should have answered the phone at 11:50 AM when the guy called. I called the estimate man back immediately after he called me and left 2 voicemails with no call back until almost 2 PM with a NASTIER attitude, he was angry because he was late and I said no I had to be back at work. My appointment was from 12 PM to 2 PM. This company is garbage for hard-working people. I will never give my money to them.

I absolutely love my experience with Door and Window Protector! In 2017 I purchased a beautiful black decorative security door. When I purchased Windows this year I requested black trim to match, they are so gorgeous! I get compliments all the time. Nichole and Roz always give great customer service and Glenn gives accurate estimates, very accommodating!

These windows keep my rooms cool, cozy, and comfortable, blocking out loud noises, I sleep 10 times better! If want quality service, quality and affordable products, this is THE BEST PLACE! 5 STAR

This review is strictly for an employee(s), Teresa. When she came into the picture, good things began to happen, the ball started rolling. She was professional and a woman of her word. We had waited months (6+) for an install, due to the repercussions of COVID-19, which has been the case for many. All kinds of promises were made but nothing ever happened until Teresa popped in on the scene.

We ordered 4 security storm doors, a fire retardant door and 1 special made door. She split the order, got the 4 security doors installed in one day and the 2 special order doors, a little later. She gotter her done! Thank you so much Teresa, XOXO. Also, Michael that took our order & the install crew(s). Marty that came both installs, thank you as well, great job.

Impressive quality and product. The installers were professional, courteous, and exhibited a work ethic that was admirable and equivalent to the price of the product. I am immensely grateful for the end result as I was concerned about the roll down shutters taking away from the 'aesthetic' of our home, on the contrary it added value and texture along with added security.

It was worth the sacrifice and cost. Contrary to popular belief, Detroit homeowners who need home improvements that require professional companies and contractors are NOT treated less than when it comes to value and service. As with most businesses, you may have some ups and downs. The ups outweighs the downs. I highly recommend doing business with Protector Windows and Doors. I have had very good workmanship done and am very pleased with my items I have received. You can try somewhere else but you will be back. Yes, I know the wait time may be long with some products, but in the end you will win!

I had 4 doors installed on april 16,2021. the installers left cracked broken wood around my front door and did not mention it to me until i was done paying them. they left the siding around my side door lifted and gaped open after they installed that door. i called the company the next day to complain and request that repairs be made, after all i paid them in full despite the shoddy work. i have not been given anything but excuse after excuse. i have made over 28 calls to this company (and i have the call log and records of ). i have spoken to donna, nicole, theresa, kenny (sales rep) and most recently trinity. on may 24th a guy came out to look at the needed repairs and he stated that 'if' the repairs are approved he would do the work. i followed up with a phone call on may 26 and 27 only to be told that trinity was on a call or in a meeting on both days.i called again on that friday and was advised that she was out of the office until after the holday. so i patiently waited again and called them back on june 4, on this day i actually get trinity on the line and when i advised her who i was she placed me on hold for over 12 minutes! needless to say i had to hang up and to this day no one has bothered to call me back. i would never recommend this company to do business with. please see my photos. i also included some photos from the inside of my side door where the installer left a big gap over the entry way thresh hold and he told me, that all 'i' need to do is place a 3/4 round down over it'.i was like really?

Terrible customer service. Came out to my property for an estimate. Never called to discuss numbers or the details to move forward. I followed up THREE TIMES and still never returned my call. Kept saying Mike or a sales manager would call me back. Never happened. Obviously, they are making enough money that they don't need any new business.

No mask but I had one on and was socially distant mainly because of the strong smell of alcohol. The installer was by himself when trying to install a one piece two-car garage door. He dropped it getting it off his truck, scratched it up during the installation, put it up uneven, etc. I could go on and on. A few hours turned into a 2 day job as well as having him on camera urinating in back of my garage. Completely unprofessional!

I would not recommend Protector Window and Doors to anybody I mean nobody. They are very unprofessional, they lie, the quality of the product is cheap. You call the office you can't talk to anyone, you have to leave a message over and over and over again. They scheduled to come out and don't call no show. We had a door put in we had a picture window put any window screens still waiting for the screens we had a bedroom window put in in 2 weeks we couldn't lift it up. So please anybody who's thinking about using protective windows and doors change your mind. Terrible service

Buyer Beware, do not use Protector Door and Window, they will keep your deposit even when they screw up. To top it off, my sales person has done nothing but lie about the situation. I ordered the product on the 22nd of Oct 2018, from there the scheduled install was for the following Saturday. When the installer arrived, he informed me they didn't measure it correctly, it was too large and someone would be calling me on Monday.

My salesman called the following Thursday and then he says it needs to be a special order and it would cost me an additional $75. That upset me, so I requested that he not do a thing until he hears back from me. Several days go by, I called the salesman and requested a refund, he said he would call me back the following day. I called a day or two later and left messages with him and the store and they never called back.

When I did reach someone from the store, they said my contract doesn't allow refunds after 3 days from the time of the order and the gate was special ordered, however; I informed them that I requested not to do anything, I didn't request the special order and you up charged me $75. They said they waived the 35 dollar up charge, I said it wasn't 35, it was $75 and I indicated that I called my sales person about the situation.

They said I should have called the store directly, I said to them I did call the store by calling my sales person, they said calling the sales person was not calling the store. After the loud shouting match over the phone, I came to the conclusion that they are stealing my deposit and was not worth my effort arguing with them. They used every excuse to avoid giving me my refund including lying about the special order and for not returning my calls.

The quality of the doors are horrible. We had doors from Empire that last almost 401years. With these doors the mail slot door handles & the deadbolt locks are rusting already, even the screws in the frame of the door is rusting. The screws in the shock mechanism rusted and came out of the door. They charged $59 to come out & put two self tappers into the door.

They are only four years old and are rarely used. My 96-year old grandmother barely leaves the house. When I called to speak with the rep, I told her our Empire doors lasted a long time and the warranty was longer. She said maybe that's why they went out of business. Our warranty is 90-days. They don't even stand by their product. The only help she offered was to reduce the service call amount the original fee which is $89. DO NOT BUY DOORS FROM HERE!

My experience with Protector Window & Door, was pretty bad also. It started out with deceptiveness about the security storm door I order. Then the appointment was missed after waiting all day. Rescheduled for the next day, but after the door was installed I noticed a bent bar. After several phone conversations the problem was rectified. Later, about a month or so after the install of the new door, the door closure started making a popping noise.

Door is still under warranty, someone was sent out, and he changed out closure (or said he did) but door continued to make noise. He said that was normal. Funny it wasn't making any noise for over a month. I called back to the office and told them I was not satisfied and spoke with Trinity and she said that the best person to send out to fix it was the person that came out and he said that nothing was wrong with it.

So I put the phone on speaker and let her hear it, and I asked her if she owned one of these doors and she said yes. I asked her does her door make this noise and she said no. She said she would refer it to the owner. That was the last I heard from this company and that was at least a month ago. The only reason the rating isn't lower is because the door is beautiful and it does give me a new level of security.

This is a update to my previous review, my front door is beautiful and my side door is just ok, the only issue with my side door is the person who came out to measure my doors must have given bad measurements, because my new side door is smaller than my old side door which means they had to rough in some wood, I dont like the way it looks, maybe after I paint the wood patch it will look better and not call my eye everytime I walk in the room.

The installer was very professional and did quality work. The reason why my rating remains low is due to the way I was treated up until the install. The owner had my sales person reach out to me and rectify my issue with the reinstalling of the security door, at first I felt that the company was attempting to right a error that occurred on their end however instead I got a call stating that the security door would be reinstalled at no cost however i was told that I did not know what I was talking about in reference to a bait and switch reference I made in my first review.

You don't scold a customer when you are rectifying a issue that the company created. I was still happy with the resolution until I received a call for a install date and was told by a different employee that he was told to tell me "I would not be able to have my doors installed until after I removed the negative rating on yelp" and also scolded me on my yelp review.

I said I can not update my review to state that the issue was resolved until the work is completed and I have something to review. I was told well "we can't put your doors in until you do" now i'm livid did I not pay $1,380 for the doors?! why are you telling me they wont be installed until I update a yelp review? I said either give me my money back or don't bother to reinstall my security door!

Then I was told that's okay ma'am we will get the doors in for you. I highly recommend that the owner contact the customer himself next time or retrain his staff on how to talk to customers. I really wanted to update with high praise but this was a opportunity missed.

I'm super torn. I want to give them a five star review, but I spent so much time following up with them that it doesn't make sense. When they are on the job-site and working on a project the installers are great. It's their internal processes that are holding them back. We had to schedule two separate appointments in order to place an order for windows.

We hired them for window and doors and later found out that they did siding which is what we needed, but when we inquired they said that they would only do the siding when installing the windows. But they never mentioned that they did siding. When following up we had two or three people that we had to contact. We tried to share that from a customer standpoint, it would be beneficial to have one person to call or contact.

After waiting 2 hours for the scheduled install of my 2 storm doors I got a call saying the installer was running late. I suggested a reschedule but he assured me he would be there before another hour went by. He arrived more than an hour later. Salesman told me install would take about an hour. Install took more than 3. At the end the installer had to write down my charge card info because they don't take personal checks for the balance on the contract and the person who normally takes the charge info over the phone had left the office (overheard phone call with installer).

I was uncomfortable with my charge information being on a piece of paper but they still refused to take a check despite my deposit check having cleared the bank While I usually tip all delivery and workers I deliberately did not. I spent the entire day waiting on this job to be completed. Here's my suggestions for this business. Get a mobile charge card device for workers to use on site Send two workers on install jobs.

The jobs will go more than twice as fast and customers won't have to be inconvenienced more than necessary and they might actually make more money for the business. Clean up your invoices and business paperwork. Looks old and unprofessional. The flyer they left for me for discounts on other jobs looked like a kid drew it up and then used a bad copier. I'm a longtime Detroit resident and I try to use Detroit based businesses.

Unfortunately this business is typical of many service related businesses in the City. I give them 3 stars rather than 2 only because of the fact that I did get the doors I ordered and the installer did a good job once he arrived and finished the job. Ultimately I wasted an entire Saturday just for this to get done when it should have taken no more than 3 hours total.
