GIEL Gerald Garage Doors

I had recently posted a bad review for this business due primarily to a disappointing discussion with someone representing Giels. To be fair, I need to say that others who work for the company stepped up to resolve the situation as best they could. My wife and I are soliciting additional bids to have our garage door and opener replaced. If we find that Giels offers the best value, we won't hesitate to have the work done by them. Their follow-up professionalism impressed me.

Over the past 15yrs they did 3 garage doors and openers and a very nice regular door, also a gate opener, never had a problem

I have nothing but praise for Gerald Giel Garage Doors! We had an unfortunate incident where a vehicle slipped out of gear and we needed a new garage door. Sent a message after hours for a quote, and received a call (still after hours!) to schedule the next am to look at the door and confirm what was needed. They were on time- courteous and thankfully had the same door in stock.

It was freezing outside, but they were able to schedule installation for the next morning. (Once again on time and friendly / clean staff.).This is what really impressed me: Unfortunately, we had a slight problem a month later. I emailed the company on a Saturday, and by Monday AM- there was a crew at our door to rectify the issue. From sales to service (and standing behind the work they do)- this company is top notch and I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else in the future! would recommend!

This company installed our new door after we received extensive damage after a truck drove through it. Company came out fast, installed the same door and it looked beautiful. One month later there were minor problems with it and Gerald himself came out personally the same day to look at it and said it need a few repairs. Two days later they were here first thing in the morning and fixed it a no charge. They are a blessing to have around and we would recommend to anyone who are looking for their garage door needs!

Callled for an estimate to replace extension springs and cables on an existing door. Was quoted the lowest price compared to other garage door repair companies in the area and was asked how the following morning sounded. I agreed to the following morning and explained I am off today and tomorrow so that would work. In a matter of 20 minutes repair guys were here to fix my door, explained how to lubricate the door properly, and what I needed to do to preserve my old existing door.

I am highly satisfied with the promptness of service, the price, and technicians going out of their way explaining what I needed to do moving forward. Will be contacting them when I'm ready for that new door!

I called for help regarding compatibility between my Homelink opener in my vehicle and my Liftmaster garage door opener since Giel had installed and serviced the openers. The individual I spoke with was rude and condescending. He told me he could send a technician out to go through my garage door manual with me or I could just call LiftMaster. He was insulting.

He added that they only do installations and repairs. He could've led with that a bit more politely. If I need a new garage door opener, I will go somewhere else. After reading his reply, my response is, "It's not what you said, it's how you said it."

David is excellent and knows his stuff inside and out. If you have any garage door needs he's the guy to call in our area. He's been at this a long time and experience is a must when it comes to garage doors. If you're like me and use it every day like a remote controlled front door then you can trust David to make sure it's fixed right the first time!

He's also a very friendly guy who has some awesome stories too. The rates are excellent and you're not going to find someone this skilled for less or more money. I'll be a lifelong customer!

WILL NOT SUPPORT HIS PRODUCT AFTER YOU BUY. I had this person install my garage doors and all was good until I wanted to purchase a new door seal. I was told, and I quote. "NO MATTER HOW MUCH I WHINE" he would not sell me the part with out charging me for installation. This company is the only distributor in our area. He then advised me to go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy one for a different door and make it work.

$200 an hour?!?! Over the phone the guy said the Job will be $200 if they have to replace the belt or bar. They didn't have to replace anything just adjust it! $200 later they called us back once and never heard from them again. The only reason I gave them 3 stars was because the guy The owner of the house was my fiance Bill Guyton! Look back at the records and see what was done and how much was charged!

Awesome service! I listed my house for sale and planned on heading out of town for the week. An open house was scheduled in 2 days when I intended to leave. Lo and behold, I came home and my garage torsion springs broke. I submitted a service request at about 7:30 PM and got a call close to 9:00 PM from Gerry. I explained my circumstances and he had a tech on site by 7:45 AM the following day.

It's now 8:15 and my garage has been fully repaired. I can now go out of town knowing my agent doesn't have to make excuses for a broken garage, which obviously wouldn't sit well with potential buyers.

I have done business with Gerald Giel Garage Doors twice now, from setting up the appointment with Joyce in the office to the tech who came out, and both times were exceptional. The first time was in March 2019 to fix a limiter switch in our 30+plus year old opener, and we got an estimate for two new openers while he was here. We called back in November to see if the job could still be done for that amount.

We were told that the price had gone up by $20 but that was it. We would pay $800 out the door, and that's exactly what the bill was when the job was done. We bought two Liftmaster 8355 1/2 HP openers with wi-fi capability through MyQ, and they can be closed or opened through a phone app! Plus an outdoor keypad. Jeff got the installation done in less than two hours and was very professional. I was very happy with the service provided by Gerald Giel Garage Doors and will happily do business with them again!

This is less than 1 Star service! This is the worst customer service that I have ever experienced! Our garage door was getting stuck from time to time so called them to come out. They never told us it was a $75 fee, but the worst was they never said they couldn't work on GeNie garage door openers. They are a garage door company so we thought they could help.

The service guy told me if they worked on them he could just go into his truck, get a part, and fix it, but since they don't work on them all he could do was replace it for over $400. He "fixed" some hinge that made our door inoperable. So we had to pay $85 for a broken door. We called the owner and he was in the defensive from the get go. He was to just tell us how long he's been in business and blah blah blah.

He was very aggressive and had zero customer service. What kind of business wants to just there wreck their reputation for $85. So sneaky to not tell us upfront how much or that they do not service our type of opener. I would never use them! Run the other way!

I called first thing in the morning and had someone to look at my garage door by lunch. On the phone I was told the service fee was $80 and as long as I did not need any parts or extensive work done then I would only be charged the $80. It took about a half hour and I was very pleased with the work and now everything works fine. And as I was told on the phone I was only charged $80. Definitely would recommend.

Excellent product, installation, price and communications. Gerry was the first one to show up to give me a bid; he answered all my multitude of questions in full and comes with a truckload of door and framing samples to best illustrate the differences in product. Although I wanted the more insulated product, he made sure to inform me about and let me know that the less expensive product would also serve me well.

There was less than a week install time and his prices were by far the best out of 4 bids. He encouraged me to get other bids as he said with a laugh " it makes me look good". I felt grateful for such an easy transaction and honest exchange. Jeff the installer was friendly and all about getting the job done. He cleaned up after himself, answered all my questions and explained the minimal door care info.

It took him 3 hours to replace my single car garage door. On Initial install date, an installer called off sick so we rescheduled a few days later. Gerry called me first thing in the AM so I wasn't kept unnecessarily tied up for the day. Overall outstanding experience.

Prompt and excellent service! The spring broke on my garage door and my car was "stuck" in the garage all day. I called Gerald Giel Garage Doors and they were at my house with it a few hours and completed the job within 30 minutes! The man was knowledgeable, courteous and prompt. The price was also extremely reasonable. I will definitely recommend him to family and friends and keep the number on hand. Thank you!

Very timely and honest assessment of the repair needed for our roll-up garage door. Repair was made quickly and cost effectively. A larger chain service provider tried to say that the door could not be repaired without replacing numerous parts at an absurd cost. I will be using this service provider for any future repairs or door installation.

We are very pleased with the work done by Gerald Giel Garage Doors. He identified and fixed the problem with our old garage door quickly, and his price was so reasonable that we asked him to install a keypad as well. When we replace this old door, we will definitely hire this company.

I would suggest this company to everyone! I was in a jam because my garage door fell off of the track causing the garage windows to shatter all over my garage floor. Giel had a consultant out to my house within the hour. He was very knowledgeable and gave me the option to fix it, and also showed me a pamphlet on new doors. The cost was so cost effective I could not say no.

He installed it the SAME day, and took away the old door and parts. This door is quieter, nicer, and works so much better. I could NOT be happier with the end product and the company's service.

I called for a quote on broken spring, was told that I would get a call back and waited two days no call back. When I did call them back the man on the phone was extremely RUDE, and spoke quite loudly in a condescending tone. So I went with someone else who was both nice and prompt ( Samson Garage Doors) and within 1 day my door was working again.

Unexpectedly, our garage door spring snapped last night, just before midnight. Gerald called me personally the next morning, and gave us a great price on same day service. He beat out every other quote and even beat one of them by $100. More importantly, he was courteous and professional. The technician he sent out was also wonderful and very knowledgeable, even giving my husband tips on maintenance. He was done and gone in about 40 minutes. These guys are the best! How can you beat a business owner calling you himself these days!

While I was in Florida my wife contacted your company to install a new door in an old free standing garage; one that I thought needed extensive reworking to convert from the old triple sliding doors to a modern electric, overhead garage door. These guys did it very quickly and in a very professional manner. It cost a little more than I expected, but it is very good looking and works flawlessly every time. Get what you pay for.call these guys.
