This review is based on phone conversations because I decided to not work with them based on how things went. First I spoke with Joe and he was great! But then he sent me a form to fill out because new customers need to authorize, blah blah blah, in order to proceed. Ok, fine. Then I get the form. It requires my credit card information to be filled in, and pictures of the credit card (front and back) plus my driver's license. Oh, sure, this can be faxed over. But.
I don't have a fax, meaning it would have to be eMailed, which is an unsecure method. So I called back and got another gentleman, who explained that this was because of fraud. Uh, ok? So I should set myself up to be a victim of fraud just so you can feel safe? That's not ok. It was kind of odd that he specifically used the phrase Mexican standoff when trying to resolve this, which I took as a joke or hyperbole.
But then I called the contractor about the pricing and such, and he was aghast at the high costs. So I called Northville Lumber back, and got Steve this time. I asked if the contractor setup an account, would the prices be reduced? And we're done. Why? Because his answer was that these prices are what people are typically willing to pay. Typically. Willing. To. Pay. Dude. That's a well-known business euphemism for, "we overcharge until people complain." So here I am, complaining.

Bunch of thieves. Thought we'd shop local, small business, support the community etc. Had them make up a trex deck kit using our dimensions. Not only did they pad the bill with extra items we wound up not ever needing, they sold us the wrong length rails (note: Trex 6' rails are NOT 6', they are 5'9) and when we brought back the extra stuff and the wrong stuff they screwed up on they only would refund 80%! Yup, you better know EXACTLY what you need because they skim 20% as soon as you take it out the door! Never again! Going to Lowes, get 5% off with the card and full refunds no matter what.

Jeremy and Tim completed the installation of 8 doors at our house this week. We had to wait a long time for the doors to be manufactured but it was worth it. Very happy with the quality of the product and the guys were total professionals who take pride in their work. Went beyond the scope of work with some drywall repair (thanks Tim!) and made sure we were happy with the installation. Really good experience.

Rude employees. We dealt with 2 different people at the store, both were rude and unhelpful. We ordered a Trex composite deck, they failed to order all the parts necessary, because I guess we were supposed to know exactly what was needed to assemble the thing. We had friends in town this weekend to help construct the deck, but realized we lacked all of the parts for the railings. Is it not your job as the professionals to instruct us as to what we need, and to order the correct parts?
Both of these employees dropped the ball, and treated us as though we were a bother. Now it's Memorial Day, they are not open, and we don't have the necessary parts to complete our project. When you order a complete deck system, you expect to receive all necessary parts. These employees seem angry, agitated, and don't want to do their jobs.
