Since Harold Rushton opened our doors, we have prided ourselves in customer service. We began in the great streets of Detroit, servicing our beautiful city's historical wood and steel windows. As the years have expanded, so have we. Along with the ability to work with historical repairs and lead units, we have evolved to also include aluminum, vinyl, and fiberglass reparations and replacements.
Traveling all of southeastern Michigan, we provide estimates and residential repairs. Any window problem, give us a call to see how we can help before looking into full replacement.

I employed H&R window in Fall of 2020 to repair 3 windows. They told me that parts were hard to come by because of COVID so it took longer than usual. When the parts came in they came out to the house (charging me extra due to the distance) to make the repairs. All windows were fixed except for one. They had ordered the wrong part and would have to come back when it came in.
After 2 months of not hearing anything, I called H&R multiple times for a status of the order. Tom always ended the call with I'll call you back after tracking the order. He never returned my calls. I gave up after 4 months of that. I don't understand why they could get parts for the other 3 windows and not the 4th since they are all the same window.

I called Tom for a quote to repair (replace the broken glass in my windows) my home of windows, he asked me to send him pictures of the windows to give me a "ball park pricing" so I did. I sent 13 picture all identified as to what needed to be done. His tecnicians came out to do the repair and then informed me that their was an additional $160.00 per hour fee for the work above the fee for the window repair, which was not on the quote I received anywhere anywhere.
I told them I didnt want the work done if their was going to be that additional fee on top of the pricing for the window repairs. They aggreed to do it for the budget pricing and went ahead and started to work. They got half way done and told me that it was going to be double the cost of which was quoted to finish. I called Tom and we had a conversation regarding his quote which stated 1-30x32 existing wood window reglaze $158.15 1-24x28 existing wood window reglaze $146.52 1-40x12 existing wood sash reglaze $138.47 looking at the pricing I "ASSUME a wood window means the window and a sash means (1 lower or upper) portion of the window.
He informed me that that pricing is for each "LIGHT" (or piece of glass with in the window), so where if I had a 30x32 window with 4 pieces of glass it would cost about $600 to fix not the quoted $158 I could buy a new high quality wood inside aluminum clad out side Pella window from lowes for $400 and pay someone to $200 to install it. basically when a quote says 1-30x32 existing WOOD WINDOW reglaze $158.15 1-24x28 existing WOOD WINDOW reglaze $146.52 It does not mean the whole window rather 1 piece of glass within the window as for the 1-40x12 existing WOOD SASH reglaze $138.47 I am not sure why the wood sash pricing was there because the sash is part of the window not the whole window. at the end of the day I believe they decided they were going to get their $160 per hour fee and manipulate their words to get paid for it and not offer an honest service as they should have. needless to say I have 11 pieces of glass that still need replaced but due to the fact the price would have gone through the roof I decided to not have them finish their job, the only reason I gave them 1 star is because the technicians were good and did the work as they were supposed to it is not their fault Tom is not honest.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMMEND YOU GET ALL YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED PRIOR TO HAVING THEM COME OUT. Tom seems to have the "used car salsman" mentality, get in there and get started then hit them with the higher cost or dont finish the work. I would reccommend you call other window companies before setteling on this one. I figured Small buissness need help in these times but I got fooled.

I visited H&R Window Repair after getting a $2500.00 estimate to replace three windows which had broken parts. The owner was able to fabricate the small parts which allowed the window to be lowered. He was so experienced and familiar with all the parts that I needed and the total cost was about $20.00! I can completely recommend this business. If you have windows that need repair, call H&R before replacing your windows!

SMALL little company. Scheduled an appointment 2 weeks ago for 2 weeks from now. Just received a call and the "estimator" has a doctors appointment so they need to reschedule for next month? Also, there lead time is 3 weeks. Founded in 1959 it sounds like the original founders are still woking there. Expect to have windows in 2 months and deal with some very old people

This company was not helpful at all when scheduling my window repair estimate. It took over 3 weeks to get on their schedule and then they rescheduled my day/time 3 times and continued to book me out for another week and a half to come to my home. The man on the phone seemed to not care at all about the inconvenience and even told me that I could go somewhere else if I was unhappy. Would never go back to use them again.

Had the company out, first to tell me what I needed to replace the center window of a large kitchen window that was a 3 in one combo. Thought I would DIY until I found I did not have the time. Called them, they ordered the window and then a few weeks later came out and replaced it. Gentleman did an awesome job in a couple of hours. Saved us a lot of time. Price was reasonable for the labor and window replacement. Very happy.

I have a 1950's ranch which has two large bay windows in the front. One window had a broken seal and I needed it replaced and to match the other window. After reading HR website and learning they had a unique background working with this kind of challenge, I called. Easy to get a quote and corresponded quickly. The work is done and it matches perfect They were very professional and I recommend them.
