I've been working with Interstate for over 20 years and am part of a second generation general contracting company. My dad has been dealing with them for 4 decades. Throughout the existence of our company, we've seen many mill companies come and go. Interstate has been a staple for our company ever since we started our business. I have nothing but good things to say about how their company is run.
We have been dealing with the same reps for over 20 years and could not be more ecstatic about their service, knowledge and professionalism. They are my go to place for lumber, doors, windows and hardware. I could not recommend anyone in the same regard as I would Interstate. Many companies come and go over the years, but the best seem to always find a way to remain and be there when you need them. Cheers to the best in the industry. Long live Interstate.

The worst company I've ever dealt with, by far! We ordered 28 Andersen windows. The salesman came to our home and measured 3 times, he met twice with our builder, but somehow16 of the windows were WAY to small when they arrived, he came out to see them and offered to replace the 2 "worst" windows, he left and we have never heard from him since, I went all the way up the chain of command from him to his managers, to the COO, CFO, and CEO, not one of them had the decency to answer my calls or emails.
I gave them a $50,000 order between windows and lumber, and they won't even answer the phone. Just disgraceful business ethics (or lack of). Do yourself a favor, stay away from Interstate Lumber.

Absolutely horrible company to deal with. I was charged twice for the same product ($4,000 overcharge), when I went back to show my credit card statement I was told outright that I was lying, because their salesman told me that "we don't make mistakes". Not sure what use they thought I would have for 2 front doors. Even when they couldn't find the second order/receipt, they still told me I was lying and refused to refund the second charge.
I had to go to small claims court to get my money back. I've met two other people since who have had the same problem, they are renowned for overcharging apparently, best bet, take your business elsewhere, I certainly will.

Worst place I've shopped. I was there Friday and today. Two guy were talking to each other at the counter. When they finished, one left and the other answered the phone. I was asking a question but no response. Then buy the things and went to 3 places to pick up. I asked the guy to cut the mahogany piece because it was 17 ft. and can't fit in the truck. The guy said he would get me a hacksaw and do it yourself, then I was in the last building to get the trim he was there and not move.

I was today in Greenwich store and had really worst experience. I came around 10 minutes before 12. I had already doors selected and just wanted to change size of one and pay by credit card for my order. When I came in in store I was informed that store will be closed in 10 minutes. I told that I need upstairs for doors orders. There were 3 clerks busy with other customers.
I was standing and waiting for my turn. In a minute one of guys that was busy came to me and informed that only 5 minutes left until store will be closed (at this point it was 7 minutes before 12) and he does not have time to show me anything. I told that I already have order, just need to modify my order and pay for it. Next second clerk that was also busy with another customer interested why exactly did order for me.
I said that I do not remember, but I showed where we were sitting, so second guy said that Scott is not available today and I have to come on Monday. I told that I will be busy on Monday and would like to complete my order. As an answer I was told that he is busy with another customer. 3 minutes before 12:00 third clerk finished with his customer and was standing next to me thinking about when he gonna leave home.
I have asked can he help me and answer was no! This is unbelievable that 3 people were not able to just modify an order and all were pointing that their work hours until 12:00
