In 2013 and 2014, Century Custom Windows, now known as Windows Pittsburgh, replaced all of the windows in our house (other than a recent addition) with 16 Thermal Industries double-hung replacement vinyl windows. Until today, I would have said that we were very satisfied with them. As far as the windows go, they are still really nice windows. They work great.
I do have a small issue with two windows, however, that can be easily fixed if I had the necessary set screws. (We did this to a few windows just after installation.) I called the company today. The owner is now unaware that set screws can fix the issue. More importantly, he said he can't help me because Thermal Industries went out of business in 2020.
I had my window warranty sitting in front of me, so I asked him: should I just rip up this "lifetime" warranty? The answer was yes. It's worthless now. I'm writing this review to warn buyers to think about who is supplying your windows. I know you can't predict company closures. But in 2009, we had Pella windows installed in our new addition. Pella is still around.
To be honest, I like the Thermal windows much better. But I have no warranty for them anymore. I felt good at the time buying locally made windows. I don't feel so good about it now. Warranties cease when the companies do. Choose wisely.

Jim was able to save me a lot of money by suggesting that I replace the glass in a window frame rather than the entire window. I am also having a new door installed and I have every confidence that it will be done properly. Jim is wonderful to work with, and I highly recommend his company. Service: General door installation

I contacted Jim at Windows Pittsburgh about a new front door. I had called some other companies previously and I wasn't happy with the prices they offered me. Jim came to my home to take some measurements, show me some entry door samples, and discuss pricing. He was willing to work with me on pricing as well as options in color and materials. The door came in much quicker than we had discussed and the installation process was seamless. I am very happy with the service and would recommend Windows Pittsburgh to others.

From the initial (no pressure) consultation, to the installation, to the follow-up to make sure the windows were installed as promised, I couldn't be happier. Jim was an outstanding contact person for this business. He was a straight-shooter regarding price and quality. The installers did a great job and cleaned up the old window debris and disposed of it. Jim came to our house and reviewed his products with us in a no-pressure setting. He offered a very reasonable and competitive quote for 13 windows and we said we'd get back to him after getting estimates from 2 additional companies. We later decided to add a sliding glass door and a storm door and Jim was quick to update his quote. Upon signing the contract, he required a relatively small advance deposit but then did not take any additional payment until the job was done and we were satisfied with the final product.
The installers, Dave and Gene, where professional, knowledgeable, and respectful, and they did a great job cleaning up. The windows and doors look great and are a huge upgrade over the previous ones. We were so satisfied that we've already been in contact about 2 additional door replacements by Windows Pittsburgh in 2021.

Windows Pittsburgh installed 9 windows at our house. It was a smooth experience from start to finish. Jim did not pressure us at all, and the price was very reasonable compared to other companies. The installation crew did a fantastic job and left the house cleaner than it was before they started. The windows look beautiful and we've gotten many compliments!
We have recommended Windows Pittsburgh to several friends and family members already. We will definitely use them again when we have to finish replacing the rest of our windows!

In January, my husband and I met with Jim regarding replacing 11 windows in our home. Jim was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The quoted price was much lower than we were expecting. We had 10 windows replaced this week and our house looks like a completely different house. I love it! The installer did an amazing job and cleaned up after himself as he worked. Our old windows were around 55 years old and well past their useful life span. The new windows open easily, don't leak, and look great. I would highly recommend Windows Pittsburgh!
