I must have visited 10 or 11 lumber yards looking for a particular type of redwood siding and just when I was about to lose hope, I walked into American Lumber. So incredibly happy to have found this place! The customer service is BEYOND amazing. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff and great pricing too! The cherry on top? Free delivery if you spend a certain amount.

Great place to do business. They took the time to explain the different types of grade of wood and got back to us regarding the cost of the posts we were looking for. Milled the posts at no extra charge. We also received followup phone calls when the work was done AND a followup call from the person who took my order to make sure I received the call it was ready to pick up. Excellent experience would use them again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

As I walked in, very politely greeted by John. I was looking for some specific size of lumber. He used his CB intercom to let staff in yard guide me to the specific location to where the materials located. Everyone in the yard was very helpful, no sales pressure. Gave me all options to choose from. Directed back to office to provide me with a formal quote on two price points.
This is when I met Greg Scott, this gentleman was full of knowledge and experience. From the sketch, down right to the bolts nuts, drill bit size, fantastic. Best part, I was recommended by a Home Depot employee to go the American lumber. I cannot say enough. Thank you so so much.

Mike was very helpful and friendly. He explained in detail the pros and cons of the doors and windows we wished to purchase. Tarn was very helpful in assisting me with a quote and the purchase of 70 pieces of 5 1/2 inch crown molding. He gave me a great price and provided excellent service. This is a 4th generation family owned business and they treat you great. I will definitely buy here again for future remodels. They also deliver to Elk Grove, CA.

A family-owned landmark. High-quality products, great lumber, a unique place. I have only had the very best of experiences over the last 20 years or so. If they don't have it which they probably do they'll get it, moreover they understand the products they sell and the applications. It is an institution that deserves all of Modesto's business. Leave the big box stores where they belong on the side of freeways to view in passing. It's worth the trip just to stop and smell the wood

If you work wood for a hobby, you need to check out the cut-off section out back. I found a great 4/4 mahogany board 14 inches wide and nearly 3 feet long. Had to buy it. Staff was jealous they had not already found it and pulled for themselves. I'll be back to check for more when I am in the area. Always remember those places you find those special pieces of wood.

I have used American lumber for the past 5 years, they are the best for home improvement needs! I highly recommend then vs a regular homedepot or lowes. I find their service to be impeccable and the prices very fair. Oh my! Best service in a long time! It is very rare to find amazing service lately. Every time I have come in, the man at the front, Joey? Well he always shows me the exact screws, window panes, or door handles I've needed for my projects. Sometimes he even hooks it up with a cup of coffee. If it werent for that sweet man, Id be stuck with some wrong equipment! Thanks to him, American Lumber gets an A+ from me! Those are rare!

Not a great place to do business. While picking up an order spoke with Joey who was extremely rude in saying that me and my boss were lying about certain aspects of order. Not sure of he was having a bad day or not but he then proceeded to turn his back to me and leave. Our company will not be back here and have been a valued customer there for many years
