Mike and Team were hired to do window and soffit work. The work was extremely high quality and done on time. This is a local family business that has been in business for over 20 years and they really care about their customers. Mike and his crew were amazing from start to finish with our roof replacement. We got about 9 estimates and his blew everyone's out of the water. He was great with communicating with my husband and I through the whole process and answered all of my concerns and questions before I even asked them in most cases. They were super efficient and they cleaned up so well I would have never even known they were there.

Stellar all around: I bought windows from Mike Gundersen, the owner of Professional Home Services, for my small house in Richmond. He came out to the house, told us what kind of windows would work and there was no pressure to buy, no sales that needed to be made that day for a special rate, and no negotiating- the great, low price was the price. We decided to buy from him and he came back out to the house, showed the windows, measured and gave an approximate date of when the windows would be installed.

He is available and communicates by text and phone calls. He is very responsive and replies quickly. On the day of the window install, there was a problem. I thought the windows would be too small. Mike stopped what he was doing, called, and came to the house. He was able to talk through what his plan for the window installation was and how the gaps would be filled and insulated.

The workers were nice and friendly and worked all day. When the windows were finished, Chris and Jarit made sure everything looked good and we were happy. Then Mike came back out, looked at all of the windows, made sure they all worked and were up to HIS standards and reminded us of the 5 year workmanship guarantee and the lifetime warranty of the windows. Great service, good price, fantastic customer service!

Mike and his crew did a fantastic job installing siding on our shed. The price was substantially lower than the other quotes we received. They started and finished on time and ensured that all debris was removed afterwards. We appreciated that Mike kept us updated throughout the project. He really takes pride in his company's work and it shows. We highly recommend Professional Home Services and will definitely use them again in the future.

Ok, so, this review is LONG over due, kept meaning to do it. I was calling around to get a quote for a roof, there was a popular one that was mentioned on TV as being a "good samarian" that was just absolutely horrible and rude to me. I guess they don't get free advertisement and my roof wasn't big enough to just treat me nice. So by the time I ended up with Professional Services (by accident no less- clicking on a "wrong link" on yelp), we were super suspicious.

This was last August, roofers where SLAMMED and backed up because of storms/ damage. He was so nice to us, we were so suspicious, lol- you know, what's the catch? He was the ONLY one that asked us what color roof we wanted (had a color cart with him) and if we wanted an upgraded/ better roof! I had planned on asking, but forgot because of all that had gone before.

I literally had to asked no question because before i can asked them, he already answered all of them and than some. And if that is not enough, improved our "old fashion" roof set up with the squeaky rotary spinner to something much nicer. All of these for a price where we did not have to sell my first child, or put my dog up for an auction! Also important, they are "his guys" no sub contractor to argue with if an issue should arise.

So i got a cheaper roof than the other quotes, that was also totally improved by materials and design! So.do you want me to say something negative, sure I can really dig, there was that one time he said he was going to call, and he didn't, but he does run a small business, it was the busy time, and bottom line, when he didn't call me, I called him and he answers! no dogging phone calls or anything.

Not meant to "discount" previous comment about him not returning a call, just saying, he is worth calling if he got busy and didn't call you as promised. And the other important part, at that point he was able to give me the exact date (did i mention last August was super busy time for roofers) and that was the day they showed up. Because of back log, he asked (!) if it was ok to come at 6 am so they can make sure to finish in one day.

His guys where up on my roof no later than 6:30 and worked until my roof was done. Not sure they even took lunch! We knew we would have actually damage that needed to be fixed to the roof, so we had the "standard" estimate, plus in case of damage repair. I need to mention this because that's when a company "can get you", not here. Totally fair, everything as promised, great job, and no "up" pricing to fix our damage.

We made it thru this last winter with snow, and rain, and the roof is perfect. So when the time comes to do our garage roof, you bet I'm calling him again. I have already recommended him to my friends, can't say enough good things about Mike or his company!

Similar to a previous reviewer, I was initially impressed with this company. Mike returned my call requesting an estimate to replace my hail damaged roof on a Saturday. After expressing my frustration with previous roofers who were reluctant to provide me with an estimate to compare to my insurance detail (only upgrades), I was relieved when Mike told me that it is his standard practice to provide a side by side estimate for both like-kind replacement and upgrade.

He told me he would come out on Tuesday to check my roof and provide me with estimates. I emailed my insurance estimate detail and planned to touch base with Mike on Tuesday. As I was out of town for work, I called Mike at the end of the day to touch base, as I hadn't heard anything. I left a message and that was it. Today marks one week since our initial encounter and Mike never got back to me.

The other reviewer waited a month, but I don't think that would change the outcome in this case either. I have a small house, and I suspect that this job is not lucrative enough for this company. I can respect not wanting to take jobs under a certain threshold your company sets; however, it would be PROFESSIONAL and courteous to inform the customer rather than just not bother to respond.

As I had estimates with other companies previously pending, I went forward with another selection and was able to get on the schedule for two weeks from now, so no harm done. Just making note for future reference. People in small houses often upgrade at some point and bigger houses need work too.

I contacted Mike several months ago about replacing the roof on my house. He returned my call 3-4 days later and eventually came over to take measurements. I found him to be very friendly and courteous. He told me he'd be getting back to me soon with a quote, and I was expecting to choose his company based on the positive reviews here. A little over two weeks went by with no word from Professional Home Services so I called and left a voice mail on his cell phone, but I never received a call back.

After three weeks I was finally able to reach Mike and he told me that he had given my information to his assistant but that he would track down what happened and get back to me. Several days later I received an email with his quote, but some of the materials were inferior to what I had been quoted from other roofing companies (he suggested 1/2" insulation and 45 mil TPO, where all other quotes I had received specified 1" insulation and 60 mil TPO).

I replied and asked him to revise the quote to include prices for 1" insulation and 60 mil TPO, so I'd have apples-to-apples comparison with the quotes from the other roofing companies. I never heard back from Mike or anyone at Professional Home Services after that. It was a shame because the other roofing companies all returned quotes within two weeks, and I waited over a month for Mike to get back to me. Based on his Yelp reviews I had intended to give him my business, which is why I waited as long as I did.

I could have begun the project sooner otherwise. Mike seems like a really nice guy, and I'm sure he and his crew do fine work based on the reviews here, but being "professional" also includes responding to customers in a timely manner. If he did not want to do the job after I asked him to revise the quote I would have appreciated a response so that I didn't wait another two weeks before choosing a different roofing company.

Called for a quote to repair/ replace the roof on my extension but they wouldn't even consider an estimate. My mistake. It says roofing and repair in their description of services. Such a shame as I have at least 8 windows needing replacement too. So hard to find a contractor to work with in this city.

Professional Home Services is honest, thorough, reliable and efficient. I was looking for vinyl siding and new windows and obtained 5 quotes. Professional Home Services had the most competitive price point as well as made me feel the most at ease with their commitment to quality. Mike did not pressure sale us and was able to gain our business by his overall commitment to the customer and their needs.

He was available at any time day/night to answer questions I had throughout the entire project. His crew was a pleasure to work with and did everything they could to make sure the job was done correct. Salvatore (one of the crew members) went out of his way to ensure the vinyl was wrapped around a portion of the house which required him to remove part of my back deck to wrap the vinyl and then replace the deck.

He could have easily ignored this step and being naive I would not have known this needed to be done. Another extra step they took was spraying the outside of my house for wasps as they had to remove hives when doing the project and there were wasps all over my property searching for their home, thank you Dan for doing that. I would most certainly recommend ProHomeVA to anyone looking to replace or get new vinyl, windows and roofing. Thank you all for everything!

Where to start. First off I had them do aluminum trim and vinyl siding on my house. Had a lot of options and colors so you don't feel restricted to only a few items. They also went above in my opinion with taking the time to get all the little things you don't think about like dryer vents and ect. The guy I dealt with ( Mike ) was on point with everything he said would be done.

They replaced some rotten spots and sent me pictures to prove it was done before the covered the area with new siding. Now the important part. Price. Well I wasted my time, Mikes time and the people of 5 other estimates. They came in well below other Richmond / tri city area businesses. Not sure why they are so high or he. Is so low but when you save over a grand and the work was done great and on schedule with what I was quoted. Who cares. Saved money and looks better then what I expected.

I used Mike and his team to replace my roof in November 2015. They were fantastic! Mike explained every step of the process, gave me a price I couldn't refuse, and was timely with his responses and project completion. He made sure I had pictures as the project progressed, and kept me informed all the way to the end. I highly recommend this business for your home, and will use them again should the need arise.

We used Mike and his team to replace our windows in 2010 and our roof in 2013. Mike is the most responsive contractor we've ever worked with. They have a high quality of work and are responsive to any small issues that arise. Unlike other contractors in the area, they will stick to their timeline! They have very good pricing and use top notch materials. If something else needs to be addressed with our home, Mike will be our first phone call. PHS gets our highest recommendation.
