Horrible service. Never return calls. I wanted the outside door knobs quickly so the salesman said I had only a few choices for quick ship with Baldwin. Supposed to be 2 weeks.a month later I get only some of the knobs! WTH! And they all have different keys! What kind of business is this? No service what so ever! UGGH!

I placed my order for baseboards they took my money. They said we will hold your inventory until you would like it released. A few weeks later I called to have my items delivered. They said they sold it! I then said to immediately get me something else so they called me back and got me a new supply from another location promise for delivery in three days. They then call me and say it was sold. They have fnew owners do not shop at the store they are unethical!

Sales rep. Scott Ashley, ordered my doors with only a rough estimate of the measurements provided by me, the coustomer. Did not confirm the measurements, ordered doors that are a couple inches too bid and will not replace doors with correct size. States I can order another set! I found this strange as other vendors ie. Windows took my measurements and presented to my house to confirm measurements. I was told not necessary, "we only make the doors not install so we dont measure" when i called again, Scott was out on a site visit measuring doors! Scam!

Single handily the worst vendor experience we have had- local manager proudly dismissive & verbally abusive while refusing to assist three! different professional clients after he delivered damaged(dirty chipped $900 doors), then client #3: backwards installed ill- fitted astragal guide material: with zero respect or compensation to our business for the time it took to remedy all of his mistakes. Even in 2020- 2021 from a so-called professional company! unbelievable Welcome to Florida

We Spent approximately $3k on doors and baseboards. Purchased one door with frosted glass and the smooth side is on the wrong side of the door which was never communicated with me in the store. My salesman only went over sizes and swings and that is all. When I called on it I was told I signed the sales slip, basically my problem not theirs and I could by a new door slab which is basically the whole cost of what I originally paid. Needless to say even asking for a quote for the new slab they've never provided me one and it took me multiple follow ups with them to even get to that point.
They DON'T return your calls, at least my salesman didn't. Then we purchase 2 standard bi-fold louver doors that you could buy right off the floor at Home depot and one doesn't quite fit in the opening we thought it would fit in. Mind you we never opened the packaging but apparently all doors purchased through them are non-refundable even the louver door which was not a custom order. So we are having to eat $110 on one of those doors too. Not to mention there were a lot of flaws on the rest of the doors, required a lot of sanding, etc.

If you like being talked down to, or paying thousands of dollars for a front door system that doesn't work - this is your place. They sold us a door that was warped, and then refused to deliver a replacement door even though it was fully paid for. If you are using a contractor - be warned: they could care less about you (who's actually paying for it) and will do whatever the contractor says, because he sends them business. Nightmare experience and we still can't use our front door nearly a year after we paid for it. If you like taking chances with your money - good luck!

Nice selection but make sure you don't need anything returned. took our laundry room cabinet hardware in for new hardware. salesman measured and we found a new design we liked. unfortunately, the salesman measured our center-to-center hardware incorrectly (such a simple task) so the hardware we received didn't work.we returned for credit and even though their salesman errored, they said we would have to wait for them to receive a credit from their supplier before we could receive our credit.these were not special order items.totally stock. UNBELIEVABLE.Hardware was returned March 4 and we just received our credit on JUNE 6. that is not my idea of a company I want to do business with again. EVER!

**UPDATE** While the below was my experience, shortly after posting the review I received a call from the Branch Manager to thank me for my honest review and discuss my experience. So if you go to the store and have a similar experience to mine, ask to speak to the Manager because he appears to genuinely care about making things right** Terrible customer service experience.
I originally stopped in to look at door handles (they have an extensive collection) and when I was there I noticed a door on display that I loved. I asked about the price and my salesman told me that he couldn't give me an idea of pricing without my door dimensions. So I left the store with his card and an agreement to email him the dimensions of my front door and he would respond with a price.
I sent him the email, no response. Two days later I called to follow up on the email, he said he would look into it and get back with me. A week later, still nothing so I went back to the store to see him in person. Took my information (again) and said he would get back with me. No response. Called again a week later - was told he still hadn't gotten a quote from their supplier. Really?
I've never worked so hard in my life to try to get a business to take my money. Finally decided to search online and found the same door at Lowe's - stopped there last night and was able to get a price on the door in about 3 minutes and placed my order. A month later, and I'm still waiting for my quote from Smith & DeShields.

I recently purchased a front door from this nightmare of a place. Overall I must say the customer service is by far the worst I've ever experienced. The sales man I ordered the door with, ordered the door backwards. Instead of a left hand swing I got a right. After 2 hours on the phone with the sales man who continued to argue with me, he tells me he lost the order sheet and his notes (all of my information).
It took me a good 15 phone calls before I got anywhere with these people and every time they would tell me the same thing. "Let me speak to my manager" or "my manager isn't around can I get back to you" only to never hear back from anyone I called. It's one thing to order the door wrong but almost everyoneI talked to was combative and did nothing but argue with me.
A smith and desheilds employee (Brian) came to my house after we learned the door was ordered wrong and got in my face yelling at me. After about a week of no one calling me back and being yelled at i decided to try and reach Daniel DeSheild to explain the situation and hopefully resolve it. Of course i couldnt get intouch with him and instead i got refered back to Brain. IM DISGUSTED A COMPANY SUCH AS S&D WOULD EVER HAVE SUCH RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, ARROGENT PEOPLE REPRESENTING THEM. its a multi million dollar company making a fus over ordering a silly door jam and having a professional install it. its been over 2 months now and i finally have my door installed.
And as for the company smith and deshield hired to install my door. the owner/manager of the company called me to curse me out and verbally assulted me. The best part is every time you're on hold you get to hear recordings about how trustworthy and professional S&D is. BULLSHIT
